Job : IT Network Engineer / Endpoint Management Engineer (MECM/SCCM)

Location :Columbia, SC, USA

• Enterprise administration and support of Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM) and MDT infrastructure

• Secure deployment, maintenance, monitoring, and optimization of endpoint systems

• Ensure compliance with state security standards, CJIS security guidance, and agency IT policies

Responsibilities

• Work under limited supervision to design, deploy, maintain, secure, monitor, and support MDT and MECM/SCCM infrastructure

• Manage software distribution, patching, reporting, and OS deployments (OSD)

• Analyze software versioning to meet business requirements

• Configure application deployments for endpoint devices

• Improve endpoint compliance, security posture, and operational efficiency

• Monitor MECM/SCCM performance, logs, and event data

• Perform routine security practices and system maintenance

• Provide operational support, documentation, and knowledge transfer

• Update MDT and MECM/SCCM environments with security controls

• Support enterprise endpoint devices, software deployments, and peripherals

• Maximize security controls using industry best practices

• Follow and support change management processes

• Stay aware of security and compliance changes

• Identify and communicate risks to the CIO and IT leadership

• Develop technical documentation per agency, CJIS, and state standards

Additional / Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of hardware and software inventory

• Experience with MECM/SCCM hierarchy:

  • CAS, Primary, and Secondary site configurations

• Expertise in:

  • Boundary Groups

  • Site Systems

  • Distribution Points

  • Content strategies

• Advanced knowledge of:

  • DNS, DHCP, PXE, and related protocols

• Experience with high-availability environments

• Ability to troubleshoot, test, deploy, and validate enterprise solutions

• Strong communication with IT teams, business users, and vendors

• Excellent organization, time management, and attention to detail

• Proactive, self-motivated, and strong self-management skills

• Ability to comply with:

  • IT policies

  • SOPs

  • Disaster recovery

  • Business continuity

  • Incident response procedures

• Experience with image testing, issue tracking, sign-off, and SOE standards

Required Skills (Ranked)

• 5+ years of experience in enterprise MECM/SCCM and MDT administration

• 5+ years of experience with:

  • Windows OS deployments

  • Software deployments

  • Image refreshes

• Strong experience with multi-OS image development and implementation

• 5+ years of experience with:

  • Software Update Points (SUP)

  • WSUS integrations

  • SQL Server configurations

• Experience with:

  • Active Directory

  • Entra AD (Azure AD)

  • Microsoft 365 Administration

  • Microsoft Intune (Co-Management)

  • Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (MDE)

• Strong knowledge of discovery methods:

  • AD Systems, Users, Groups

  • Hybrid AD / Entra environments (preferred)

Preferred Skills

• Expert knowledge of Windows infrastructure, logging, and event handling

• Strong understanding of:

  • Client settings

  • Deployment strategies

  • 3rd-party software support

• Expertise in:

  • Compliance settings and baselines

  • Client health monitoring

• Advanced PowerShell scripting

• Experience with:

  • Logon scripts

  • Logon optimizations

  • Automated OS, driver, GPO, and task sequence deployments
