Description
We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer to join our team in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining and optimizing our network infrastructure to ensure seamless connectivity and security across systems. This is a long-term contract position within the life insurance industry, offering the opportunity to work on innovative projects and collaborate with a dedicated team.
Responsibilities:
Provide expert technical support for networking hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.
Diagnose and resolve issues related to network connectivity, performance, and configuration errors.
Install, configure, and manage networking devices and associated software applications.
Collaborate with IT professionals to design, implement, and upgrade network infrastructure solutions.
Monitor network performance and security, addressing vulnerabilities and threats proactively.
Document network configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and maintenance protocols for future use.
Assist in planning and executing network infrastructure projects, including hardware upgrades and migrations.
Stay informed about industry trends and new technologies, particularly Cisco networking products and solutions.
Ensure compliance with network security standards and best practices to protect against threats.
Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of experience in technical support for networking equipment and technologies.
Proficiency in Panorama and Palo Alto firewalls is highly preferred.
Cisco Certified Support Technician (Networking) or higher certification is strongly desired.
Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking protocols, routing, switching, VLANs, and subnetting.
Familiarity with network security concepts, including firewalls, VPNs, and access control lists (ACLs).
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to address complex network-related issues.
Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with end-users and team members.
Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain attention to detail in a dynamic work environment.
