Location: Buffalo, New York (Fully Onsite)
Employment Type: 3 month contract to hire
Pay rate: 25/hr.
Role Overview
We are seeking a candidate for a Testing Technician position. The role involves conducting full-scale physical property testing, including acoustic, structural, and fire tests. The technician will be responsible for preparing and building assemblies for testing purposes, such as walls and ceilings, and executing the tests.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare assemblies for fire testing, such as walls and ceilings.
- Execute full-scale physical property tests, including fire, acoustic, and structural tests.
- Utilize construction or carpentry practices to build the test assemblies.
- Manage the process of testing large-scale structures (e.g., 10x10 ft. walls, 14x14 ft. ceilings).
Required Qualifications
Education: An Associate's Degree in Engineering or a related technical field is preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.
Experience: Candidates should have a background in construction and demonstrate the ability to learn testing procedures, or possess an educational background in engineering with the ability to learn construction practices.
Compensation & Benefits
