Large-part machining Workpieces up to 120 inches long

Position Overview

First Tool Corporation is seeking an experienced CNC Bridge Mill Operator to set up and machine large, precision components. The ideal candidate can work independently, interpret complex prints, and take ownership of setups, machining quality, and in-process inspection.

Experience & Qualifications

• 5+ years of CNC machining experience required.
• 3+ years operating CNC bridge mills, gantry mills, or comparable large-bed milling machines preferred.
• Experience machining large parts, including components up to 120 inches in length.
• Ability to set up jobs independently, establish work offsets, align and indicate large workpieces, and select appropriate workholding.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and GD&T.
• Able to make program edits and troubleshoot machining or setup issues; CNC programming experience is a plus.
• Experience using precision measuring tools and verifying parts throughout the machining process.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to producing quality work.
• Must be willing to work 45-55 hours per week.
• Must have own tools.

Equipment Experience

Experience with any of the following equipment is valuable:

• Haas VF-12
• Smart SW-316
• Johnford DMC-3100

Candidates with experience on comparable large-travel CNC milling equipment are encouraged to apply, even if they have not operated these exact machine models.
