Location: Onsite Hercules, CA

We are seeking a Senior HRIS Integration Specialist to lead the technical design, development coordination, testing, and support of integrations between SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central (EC) and external HR, payroll, and enterprise systems. This role serves as the key integration authority within the HRIS team, translating business and vendor requirements into robust technical specifications, data mappings, API queries, and integration solutions.
The specialist will collaborate closely with HR, Payroll, middleware teams, and external vendors to ensure accurate, secure, and reliable employee data flows across systems. The role will also support planned transition to Workday by driving integration assessment, requirements mapping, solution redesign, parallel testing, and cutover readiness.
Key Responsibilities
Integration Design & Documentation: Develop and maintain technical specifications, source-to-target mappings, transformation rules, value mappings, and data-flow diagrams for SuccessFactors inbound and outbound integrations.
SuccessFactors API Expertise: Design, optimize, and troubleshoot OData and CompoundEmployee API queries, including filters, delta logic, effective dating, and complex employee data scenarios.
Integration Center Management: Build, configure, and support Integration Center jobs using CSV, EDI, OData, and SOAP formats, including scheduling, SFTP connectivity, PGP encryption, and monitoring.
Payroll Integration Ownership: Maintain and validate SuccessFactors integrations with ADP Celergo and ADP GlobalView, ensuring accurate employee data replication, mapping consistency, and timely resolution of replication errors.
Middleware Collaboration: Partner with SAP Integration Suite (CPI) and Informatica IICS teams to troubleshoot interface failures, trace messages, validate payloads, and resolve mapping and data-quality issues.
Testing & Quality Assurance: Plan and execute unit, system integration, regression, and end-to-end testing for hires, rehires, transfers, global assignments, concurrent employment, terminations, and retroactive changes.
Production Support & Governance: Investigate integration incidents, identify root causes, implement corrective actions, maintain integration documentation, and provide formal HRIS sign-off with supporting test evidence.
Workday Transition Support: Assess existing integrations, document business and technical requirements, support mapping redesign, evaluate integration options, and participate in parallel testing, migration, and cutover activities.
Stakeholder Management: Coordinate with HR, Payroll, IT, middleware developers, and vendor partners to resolve dependencies, manage changes, and ensure integrations meet business and compliance requirements.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
8+ years of HRIS experience, including at least 5 years of hands-on SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central integration experience.
Strong understanding of the SuccessFactors data model, including Person and Employment objects, Job Information, Compensation, MDF objects, foundation objects, picklists, and effective dating.
Expert-level proficiency in SuccessFactors OData and CompoundEmployee APIs, including query development, delta extraction, filtering, and troubleshooting.
At least 5 years of experience developing and supporting SuccessFactors Integration Center jobs.
Working knowledge of SAP Integration Suite (CPI) and Informatica IICS, including the ability to trace integration flows, analyze messages, and collaborate with middleware developers on issue resolution.
Hands-on experience with ADP Celergo and ADP GlobalView payroll integrations.
Proficiency in XML, JSON, CSV, and fixed-width data formats, along with SFTP connectivity and PGP encryption.
Experience in integration testing, defect management, root-cause analysis, and production support.
Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across HR, Payroll, IT, and external vendor teams.
Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Current SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central certification.
Exposure to Workday integrations, including EIB, Core Connectors, Workday Studio, or PECI.

Experience working in a complex, global enterprise HRIS environment with multiple payroll providers and external vendor interfaces.
Key Success Factors
Reliable and accurate employee data exchange across HR, payroll, and downstream enterprise systems.
Proactive identification and resolution of integration failures, data discrepancies, and recurring production issues.
High-quality technical documentation, comprehensive test coverage, and traceable HRIS sign-off.
