We are seeking an intern to help us improve visibility and understanding of the campus electrical distribution system to support reliable operations and long term infrastructure planning. As a member of our team, you'll contribute to mapping, documenting, and modeling electrical distribution assets that support critical facilities and operations. - Your primary responsibility will be supporting the mapping, documentation, and modeling of the campus electrical distribution system
- You will ...
- Assist in compiling and validating electrical distribution data, including one line diagrams, feeders, substations, and equipment
- Support the development and refinement of campus electrical system maps and documentation
- Assist with data input, validation, and basic electrical modeling using SKM PowerTools software
- Help identify gaps or inconsistencies in existing electrical records
- Coordinate with facilities staff and engineers to verify field conditions
- Support the preparation of technical summaries and documentation for planning and analysis
- Operate APL Vehicles(service vans/trucks) to travel across campus
Qualifications
You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...- Are pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Have a passion for electrical power systems, infrastructure, and applying engineering concepts to real world problems
- Have a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
- Hold U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status, as required to access APL's facilities and networks, subject to applicable laws.
- Requires valid state-of-residence driver's license in good standing

- Are familiar with electrical drawings, one line diagrams, and technical documentation

The referenced pay range is based on JHU APL's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level with consideration for internal parity. For salaried employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, annual salary will be prorated based on the number of hours worked. APL may offer bonuses or other forms of compensation per internal policy and/or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be provided in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, locality allowance or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
