Role Overview

The Hot SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) Product Engineer supports the engineering and design teams in the successful technical execution of Hot SCR projects. This role serves as a liaison between the Hot SCR engineering team, supporting discipline engineering teams, and the Project Engineer, integrating engineering, scheduling, and purchasing activities in accordance with contractual obligations. The position supports technical coordination across exhaust systems, emissions control technologies, industrial ductwork, fans, mechanical systems, electrical systems, and instrumentation and controls. Familiarity with Balance of Plant design and construction is desirable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Specify, select, and coordinate the mechanical, electrical, and controls equipment required for Hot SCR systems.
  • Support Project Managers and Project Engineers in resolving technical issues and integrating customer, contract, and parent-company design requirements.
  • Assist with project planning, setup, and monitoring activities, including kickoffs, master document lists, division of responsibility, contract deviations, and interdisciplinary workflows.
  • Translate contractual scope and technical requirements for discipline engineering teams and support resolution of interdisciplinary issues.
  • Monitor engineering schedules, budgets, estimates, deliverables, action items, and technical status through project completion.
  • Track Hot SCR design and specification changes and document resulting schedule, cost, and contract impacts.
  • Conduct coordination meetings with international affiliated companies to support successful project execution.
  • Review project documents and drawings for technical accuracy, completeness, and contractual compliance.
  • Support equipment specifications, bid evaluations, vendor selection, and supplier capacity assessments for Mitsubishi-sourced Hot SCR equipment.
  • Coordinate with Global Sourcing, Quality Assurance, Project Management, and vendors or subcontractors through project execution and warranty closeout.
  • Support review of customer specifications and contribute to process improvement, cost reduction, and resolution of outstanding project issues.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a four-year college or university required.
  • Minimum one (1) year of directly related technical experience.
  • Familiarity with exhaust systems, emissions control technology, oxidation and deNOx catalysts, industrial ductwork, industrial fans, flow modeling, and related mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation and controls systems.
  • Familiarity with Balance of Plant design and construction preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, logic diagrams, schematics, safety requirements, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to prepare routine technical reports and correspondence and communicate effectively with customers, employees, and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and reasoning skills with the ability to interpret technical instructions, define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Working knowledge of project management, spreadsheet, word processing, email, 3D graphics, and diagramming tools, including Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, SmartPlant or PDMS, and Visio.
  • Ability to travel to customer offices and construction sites as required.
