Job OverviewJob Summary
We are seeking a
Senior Optimizely Engineer to lead experimentation, personalization, and optimization initiatives across our digital platforms. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and scaling A/B tests and feature experiments using Optimizely, while closely partnering with product, UX, analytics, and engineering teams to drive data-backed decisions and measurable business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Experimentation & Optimization
- Design, build, and manage A/B, multivariate, and feature flag experiments using Optimizely (Web, Full Stack, Feature Experimentation).
- Partner with product and UX teams to translate hypotheses into well-structured experiments.
- Ensure experiments are statistically sound, scalable, and aligned with business goals.
- Analyze experiment results and clearly communicate insights to stakeholders.
Engineering & Architecture
- Implement Optimizely SDKs and APIs across web and server-side platforms.
- Ensure clean, modular, and performant experiment code.
- Integrate Optimizely with analytics tools (Google Analytics, Adobe, Segment, Amplitude, etc.).
- Manage feature flags and progressive rollout strategies safely in production.
Personalization
- Implement audience targeting, personalization rules, and recommendation strategies.
- Leverage customer data to drive contextual and behavioral experiences.
Governance & Best Practices
- Define experimentation best practices, standards, and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with performance, accessibility, security, and privacy standards.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide code reviews and technical guidance.
Collaboration & Leadership
- Act as the technical SME for Optimizely across the organization.
- Work cross-functionally with Product, Design, Marketing, Analytics, and Engineering.
- Influence roadmap decisions using experimentation insights.
Required Qualifications
- Strong experience with Optimizely (Web Experimentation, Full Stack, Feature Flags).
- Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, and modern frontend frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue).
- Experience with backend languages (Node.js, Java, .NET, or similar).
- Solid understanding of A/B testing methodology, statistics, and experiment design.
- Experience integrating with analytics and data platforms.
- Strong knowledge of web performance, CI/CD pipelines, and version control (Git).
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Optimizely certification(s).
- Experience with personalization engines and CDPs.
- Exposure to experimentation at scale (high-traffic platforms).
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform).
- Familiarity with GDPR, consent management, and privacy-first experimentation.
