Role: Senior Network Engineer

Location: Whippany, NJ (Hybrid – 2–3 days/week onsite)

Overview:

We are looking for a seasoned Senior Network Engineer with deep expertise in designing, building, and deploying enterprise-scale network solutions. This role requires a strong focus on hands-on implementation and deployment rather than purely operational support. The ideal candidate will be capable of delivering end-to-end network solutions aligned with enterprise architecture, while working across global teams in a complex environment.

Key Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience in designing, building, and deploying mid-to-large-scale network solutions in enterprise environments.
• Strong emphasis on network implementation and deployment (build & deploy) — candidates with only network operations/support experience will not be a fit.
• Ability to integrate inputs from multiple teams and deliver cohesive end-to-end solutions.
• Deep understanding of core networking concepts and infrastructure components, including data networks, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Advanced knowledge of routing protocols: EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco technologies, including:
  • Cisco ACI
  • Nexus platforms
  • Cisco Firepower and Cisco ASA firewalls (strong expertise required)
• Strong, practical experience with F5 BIG-IP Load Balancers (must-have skill).
• Experience with Fortinet solutions: FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer.
• Familiarity with Juniper and Check Point firewalls.
• Exposure to virtualization and cloud platforms such as VMware and AWS.
• Experience with automation and scripting (Python, Ansible, Shell).
• Strong deployment and configuration skills in complex enterprise environments.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical solutions.
• Proven experience working with distributed/global teams.

Preferred Certifications:

• Cisco CCIE / CCNP (Routing & Switching / Security)
• Fortinet FCNSA
• F5 CTS-LTM / CTS-GTM

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Drive end-to-end network implementation, build, and deployment activities within the Core Networks domain.
• Develop and review Low-Level Designs (LLDs) in collaboration with Project Managers and Architects, ensuring alignment with engineering standards.
• Ensure all solutions adhere to enterprise architecture, infrastructure strategy, and governance policies.
• Take ownership of complete project delivery, including planning, execution, and deployment.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders, global teams, and external vendors to meet project objectives.
• Ensure high-quality deployment execution, including configuration, validation, and documentation.
• Contribute to risk management, compliance, and regulatory adherence across all activities.
• Support audit processes by addressing findings and ensuring proper remediation.
• Align infrastructure solutions with business requirements, budget constraints, and long-term strategy.
• Collaborate with architecture, governance, and standards teams to influence and implement network strategy.
• Provide accurate effort estimation, timely status updates, and proactive escalation of risks/issues.
• Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to ensure smooth delivery and minimize delays.
• Follow and support ITIL processes, including change, incident, and problem management.
• Ensure all work complies with enterprise risk frameworks and internal policies.

Key Expectations:

• Strong hands-on experience in network deployment (not just operations/support).
• Proven expertise in F5 Load Balancer implementations.
• Strong working knowledge and hands-on experience with Cisco ASA Firewalls.
• Ability to own and deliver complex network deployments end-to-end.
