Job Description
We are seeking a Backend / Platform Software Engineer to join a leading enterprise engineering team responsible for building shared services, APIs, and developer tools that enable engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable applications.
This role focuses on developing high-quality backend APIs, automation tools, and platform services, while working with cloud infrastructure, containerization, and modern DevOps practices.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience developing production-grade services using Python or Go, designing REST APIs, and working within cloud-native environments.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop secure, scalable, and well-documented APIs and backend services.
Build internal developer tools and platform services to improve developer productivity.
Implement engineering best practices such as test-driven development, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines.
Ensure system reliability through structured logging, monitoring, metrics, and alerting.
Collaborate with platform and product teams to standardize authentication, configuration, and security patterns.
Participate in incident response and reliability improvements.
Develop containerized services and manage deployment pipelines in cloud environments.
Required Skills
Bachelor s Degree (Required)
6+ years of IT experience with 4+ years in software development
Strong experience with Python for building production services or internal tools
Experience with Go (Golang) for backend APIs and high-performance services
Strong knowledge of REST API design and development
Experience working with Cloud Infrastructure (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure)
Experience with Docker and containerized applications
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices
Preferred Skills
Experience with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform)
Experience with Kubernetes
Knowledge of event-driven architecture (queues, pub/sub)
Experience implementing OAuth/OIDC authentication and API security
Familiarity with Agile software development practices
