Location: San Francisco, CA (Hybrid)
Duration: Long-term contract with potential for extension and conversion
Work Authorization: H-1B candidates will be considered
Work Schedule: Hybrid, approximately 3 days onsite per week (preferred days: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, with flexibility)
About the Team

Our Consumer Marketing Technology organization is building one of the industry's most strategic Agentic AI platforms. This team is responsible for designing and deploying intelligent AI agents that automate and orchestrate marketing campaign workflows at scale.

Since launching earlier this year, the team has successfully delivered multiple AI agents and is now entering a rapid growth phase focused on production deployment, scalability, and enterprise adoption. This initiative represents one of the organization's first large-scale Agentic AI programs and has significant visibility across leadership and business stakeholders.

The long-term vision is to create an ecosystem of 20+ AI agents that transform how personalized offers and marketing experiences are delivered to customers.
About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Python Engineer with Agentic AI expertise to help design, build, and scale next-generation AI agents and supporting platform services.

This is a hands-on engineering role with a strong emphasis on software development. You will spend the majority of your time building production-grade AI systems, developing backend services, and collaborating closely with architects and fellow engineers to deliver scalable AI solutions.

The ideal candidate combines deep backend engineering expertise with practical experience building applications powered by Large Language Models (LLMs), Agentic AI frameworks, and modern AI orchestration patterns.
What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and deploy AI agents that automate and optimize marketing operations.
• Build scalable microservices and backend systems using Python and modern service architectures.
• Develop and integrate REST APIs that support AI workflows and enterprise applications.
• Design multi-agent workflows and orchestration patterns for complex business processes.
• Implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and advanced knowledge retrieval solutions.
• Build guardrails, monitoring, governance, and responsible AI controls for production systems.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, reliability, and fault tolerance.
• Develop solutions utilizing vector databases, embeddings, semantic search, and AI retrieval pipelines.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and product teams to deliver enterprise AI capabilities.
• Support production deployments and continuously improve AI system performance and quality.
• Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, and regulatory requirements within a highly governed environment.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience using Python.
• 5+ years of experience building microservices-based applications.
• 5+ years of experience designing, developing, and consuming APIs.
• 5+ years of experience working with MongoDB or similar NoSQL databases.
• Experience building distributed systems and highly available backend services.
• Experience developing production-grade applications using FastAPI or similar frameworks.
• Experience with asynchronous programming, concurrency, and performance optimization.
• Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, testing, and code quality.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-2+ years of experience building Agentic AI or LLM-powered applications.
• Experience designing and implementing multi-agent systems.
• Experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures.
• Knowledge of prompt engineering, prompt orchestration, tool calling, and LLM routing strategies.
• Experience with vector databases, embeddings, and semantic search technologies.
• Experience evaluating and monitoring LLM performance, accuracy, and hallucination risks.
• Experience implementing responsible AI controls, governance frameworks, and model monitoring.
• Knowledge of cloud-native architectures and modern cloud platforms.
• Experience working with event-driven systems and streaming technologies such as Kafka.
• Experience building solutions within regulated enterprise environments.
