We are on the hunt for a passionate, dedicated, and experienced Permanent CNC Machinist to join our dynamic team in the manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of CNC machines to produce precision parts and instruments. This includes precision instrument making, prototyping, and production. The CNC Machinist will also fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

1. Operate and maintain CNC machines, ensuring they run smoothly and effectively.
2. Interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements to plan layouts.
3. Translate the requirements of detailed part drawings into measurements for production.
4. Ensure the CNC machine operates in accordance with the guidelines of the company.
5. Oversee the machines while they execute the tasks and make the necessary changes to produce improved results.
6. Check machinery on a daily basis to guarantee functionality.
7. Record all machine actions by completing production and quality logs.
8. Communicate logistics issues that arise in the process of creating a part.
9. Ensure that results of machining process align with client expectations.
10. Conduct regular CNC machine assessments.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent qualification required.
2. Certificate or diploma in engineering or relevant discipline is a plus.
3. Minimum of 5 years' experience as a CNC Machinist.
4. In-depth knowledge of CNC machinery, mechanical systems, and industrial processes.
5. Able to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings.
6. Computer savvy with basic understanding of computer programming and CAD/CAM.
7. Mechanical aptitude and good math skills.
8. A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach.
9. Good communication abilities, with the ability to work in a team.
10. Experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (lathes, grinders etc.)
11. Ability to use precision tools (e.g. calipers) to take accurate measurements.
12. Knowledge of the properties of metal and other material.
13. Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals.
14. Familiarity with Haas CNC machines will be considered an asset.
