About the RoleWe're seeking an experienced
Access Control / Low-Voltage Installer to support commercial security projects including card access, maglocks, door hardware, structured cabling, and system integrations. This technician will work on active job sites installing, wiring, and troubleshooting access control systems for corporate offices, schools, data centers, and industrial facilities.
Responsibilities- Install and service access control hardware: card readers, maglocks, electric strikes, REX devices, door contacts
- Pull, route, and terminate low-voltage cabling (Cat5e/Cat6, 18/2, 18/4, composite)
- Mount and wire door controllers, power supplies, relays, and enclosures
- Read and interpret blueprints, riser diagrams, and door schedules
- Program and test system functionality: schedules, credentials, door logic
- Troubleshoot wiring issues, device failures, and network connectivity
- Ensure all work meets NEC, safety, and customer quality standards
- Communicate progress with project managers and site supervisors
Required Experience- 1-3+ years in low-voltage, security, or structured cabling
- Hands-on experience with access control hardware and door wiring
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, toners, and multimeters
- Understanding of basic networking (IP addressing, PoE)
- Ability to work on ladders, lifts, and active construction sites
Preferred Experience- Experience with systems such as LenelS2, Genetec, Brivo, Openpath, Avigilon, Honeywell
- Knowledge of relay logic, lock behavior (fail-safe/fail-secure), and power calculations
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
