Hybrid/Local (SC/NC/GA ONLY) Microfocus Visual COBOL Developer (Microsoft/Microfocus Certification) with web service, batch, IIS, Oracle/SQL Server, SQL, C#/.Net experience
Location: Blythewood, SC (SCDMV)
Duration: 12 Months (37.5 Hours/Week)
The initial engagement will require fully onsite work with SCDMV Engineers and Business Specialists in a real-time development and maintenance mode. Regional candidates will be given priority (SC/NC/GA). This will be a hybrid role allowing the candidate the opportunity for partial remote work up to one day a week unless project needs dictate otherwise.
Candidate Location: Candidate MUST be a SC resident or willing to relocate to SC prior to starting the role at their own expense.
Required Skills (rank in order of Importance):
1) 8+ Years of Development with MICRO FOCUS Visual COBOL in Windows Server 2019/2022, batch and under IIS.
2) 4+ Years Experience with Visual Studio 2019/2022 including the ability to use the debugger
3) 4+ Years of Application programming against RDBMS (Oracle, SQL).
4) Bachelor s degree in IT, OR related discipline with 8 years of experience or minimum 10 years related experience without degree
Preferred Skills (rank in order of Importance):
1) Experience with MICROFOCUS COBOL Version 7 and higher
2) Ability to write complex queries using SQL for Oracle and MS SQL DB.
3) IIS Configuration/Setup
4) Skilled in C# and .NET
5) Microsoft Certification please indicate specific certificate on resume
6) Microfocus Certification please indicate specific certificate on resume
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
PREFER BACHELOR S DEGREE IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY RELATED DISCIPLINE WITH 8 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE OR MINIMUM 10 YEARS RELATED EXPERIENCE. REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:
NOT REQUIRED BUT MS TECHNICAL CERTIFICATIONS WILL BE FACTORED IN THE SELECTION PROCESS.
MICROFOCUS CERTIFICATIONS ARE A SIGNIFICANT ADVANTAGE
DAILY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. ANALYZE THE SCDMV PHOENIX II, WEB SERVICE, AND BATCH BUSINESS APPLICATIONS
2. TAKE THE LEAD IN ANALYZING AND TROUBLE-SHOOTING ASSIGNED SYSTEM PROBLEMS
3. PROPOSE SOLUTIONS
4. CODE, TEST, PROMOTE, AND INTERACT WITH IMPACTED USERS ENSURING THAT SOLUTION MEETS REQUIREMENTS.
5. PROVIDE DAILY AND WEEKLY STATUS TO THE DEVELOPMENT MANAGER.
