Scrum Master Job Description
The Scrum Master is responsible for leading and driving Agile Scrum teams forward. The Scrum Master will escalate issues from the team and remove roadblocks. The Scrum Master also communicates with the appropriate teams to ensure assignments are delivered with the highest quality and in accordance with standards.
The Scrum Master continuously works to improve software delivery processes and Agile practices and demonstrates the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
Essential Job Functions
Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews/demos, and retrospectives.
Support SAP projects; candidates with SAP experience are strongly preferred.
Coach team members on Agile values and principles, including collaboration, prioritization, accountability, and transparency.
Identify and remove impediments or distractions that interfere with the team’s ability to deliver commitments.
Facilitate the creation and adoption of working agreements and definitions of done, using appropriate tools and standards.
Ensure the team tracks and communicates progress and metrics to appropriate stakeholders.
Foster an environment of collaboration, creativity, and self-organization within the team.
Support the team in making appropriate commitments through story selection and task definition.
Drive continuous improvement through Lean practices and data-driven retrospectives.
Protect the team from uncontrolled work injection and ensure changes are evaluated properly.
Promote quality practices so applications and services meet performance expectations and scalability needs for future growth.
Escalate issues or concerns to team leads or management when required.
Ensure application lifecycle management tools accurately reflect team progress and activities.
Perform all essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Minimum Position Qualifications
Strong knowledge and practical experience with Agile software development methodologies, principles, and practices.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
Ability to coach and empower teams to achieve high performance.
Excellent team player and team-building skills.
Ability to communicate and collaborate with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
Experience managing interpersonal conflicts and supporting team growth.
Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to understand technical concepts and issues at a high level.
Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
Self-motivated, creative, and capable of empowering teams to solve complex problems.
