Job Description
We are seeking a Core Engineering - Automation Engineer IV to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in network test automation, CI/CD pipelines, and Python-based test development and a proven ability to design, automate, and scale end-to-end datacenter networking test coverage for NPIs.
Responsibilities:
- Test and automate end-to-end network scenarios across control-plane, data-plane, performance, and stress/soak using the DNE in-house framework.
- Build and execute traffic-generation tests with Ixia or Keysight in lab environments.
- Convert qualification plans into automated, repeatable suites and onboard them as CI/CD conveyor nodes that gate releases.
- Triage test failures to distinguish flakiness from regressions and file issues to the appropriate on-call owners.
- Maintain and improve existing automation, test configurations, and lab tooling.
- Collaborate with Netcastle, Routing, and FBOSS cross-functional partners to unblock coverage.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 3+ years in software or network test automation or QA engineering.
- Strong Python skills for test frameworks, scripting, and debugging.
- Solid networking fundamentals: BGP, routing and forwarding, L2/L3, and control-plane vs. data-plane concepts.
- Experience with traffic generators such as Ixia or Keysight.
- CI/CD pipeline experience and comfort in Linux with source control.
Preferred Skills:
- Exposure to Open/R, advanced BGP, ECMP or UCMP, and large-scale datacenter fabric topologies.
- Experience qualifying network hardware, optics, or vendor NOS such as Arista EOS.
- Familiarity with lab automation, device provisioning, and scale or performance testing.
- Bachelor of Science in a relevant field or equivalent network engineering background.
- 5-8+ years of experience in software or network test automation or QA engineering.
