We are seeking an Associate Cybersecurity Engineer to join the Post-Quantum Security Team within Cybersecurity Engineering and Operations (CE&O). This role is ideal for an early-career cybersecurity professional with a strong interest in cryptography, emerging technologies, and secure system design.

As an Associate Cybersecurity Engineer, you will work closely with experienced security architects and engineers, software engineers, systems engineers, security analysts, and product teams to help evaluate, implement, and support technologies that enable Visa's transition to post-quantum cryptography. You will contribute to research, proof-of-concepts, cryptographic discovery initiatives, technology assessments, client-facing engagement, and operational activities supporting Visa's quantum readiness program.

This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in one of the most significant technology transformations facing the cybersecurity industry.

Major Duties
  • Support senior engineers in evaluating and testing NIST-standardized post-quantum cryptographic algorithms and protocols.
  • Assist in conducting cryptographic discovery and inventory activities across applications, infrastructure, and security platforms.
  • Leverage Generative AI, Agentic AI, Machine Learning, and automation technologies to improve the efficiency, scalability, and accuracy of cybersecurity engineering and operational processes.
  • Participate in proof-of-concept projects involving PQC-enabled products, services, HSMs, PKI platforms, Key Management Systems, and network security technologies.
  • Help assess the impact of quantum computing on existing cryptographic systems and payment security architectures on-prem and on cloud.
  • Support the development of migration strategies, technical documentation, standards, and implementation guidance.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to identify cryptographic dependencies and remediation opportunities.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of cryptographic automation, reporting, and risk tracking processes.
  • Leverage Generative AI, Agentic AI, Machine Learning, and automation technologies to improve the efficiency, scalability, and accuracy of cybersecurity engineering and operational processes.
  • Participate in security architecture reviews, threat modeling activities, and technology evaluations.
  • Assist with industry research on emerging cryptographic standards, regulatory developments, and best practices.
  • Support internal training, awareness, and knowledge-sharing initiatives related to cryptography and post-quantum security.
  • Create technical reports, presentation materials, and engineering documentation for internal and external stakeholders.

All Visa roles require digital fluency, including the ability to work with emerging technologies such as Generative AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot) to support everyday work.
Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
