Role: Portfolio Manager
Location : Phoenix
We are seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager with strong content writing and technical expertise to support enterprise banking initiatives. This role requires a professional who can bridge the gap between business stakeholders, technical teams, and executive leadership by creating clear, structured, and impactful portfolio-level documentation and communications.
The ideal candidate will have strong banking domain knowledge, excellent communication skills, and experience managing and documenting multiple programs, initiatives, and technology portfolios.
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Management & Governance
- Manage and support multiple technology and business portfolios aligned with banking strategic objectives.
- Track portfolio performance, risks, dependencies, and delivery timelines.
- Prepare portfolio dashboards, status reports, executive summaries, and governance documentation.
- Collaborate with program managers, project managers, product owners, and technical teams.
- Ensure alignment between business goals and IT delivery across portfolios.
Content Writing & Documentation
- Develop high-quality technical and business content including:
- Executive presentations
- Portfolio status reports
- Technical documentation
- Business case documents
- Process documentation
- Strategy and roadmap documentation
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear business-friendly language.
- Create executive-level communications for leadership and stakeholders.
Technical & Banking Domain Support
- Work closely with architecture, engineering, DevOps, cloud, and application teams.
- Understand banking systems such as:
- Core banking platforms
- Digital banking applications
- Payment systems
- Risk and compliance systems
- Data platforms and cloud solutions
- Support technical initiatives including cloud migration, digital transformation, and modernization programs.
Stakeholder Communication & Coordination
- Act as a communication bridge between business, technical teams, and leadership.
- Facilitate meetings, prepare agendas, and document meeting outcomes.
- Provide clear, concise, and professional communication across all organizational levels.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Portfolio Management Skills
- Strong experience in Portfolio Management, Program Management, or PMO roles.
- Experience managing enterprise-level banking or financial services portfolios.
- Strong understanding of project lifecycle (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, Hybrid).
Content Writing & Communication Skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong experience writing executive-level and technical documentation.
- Ability to present technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience preparing executive dashboards, reports, and presentations.
Technical Knowledge
- Strong understanding of enterprise technology environments:
- Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)
- Enterprise applications and APIs
- Data platforms and analytics
- Microservices and distributed systems
- Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, and software delivery lifecycle.
Banking Domain Experience
- Strong experience in banking or financial services domain.
- Knowledge of:
- Core banking systems
- Digital banking
- Payments and transactions
- Regulatory and compliance requirements
Tools & Technologies
Experience with the following tools is preferred:
- Project & Portfolio Tools: Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, Clarity, MS Project
- Documentation Tools: MS Word, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint
- Reporting Tools: Excel, Power BI, Tableau
- Collaboration Tools: Teams, Slack
