Java Developer

Location: Columbus, Ohio (Onsite)

Role Overview

We are seeking a senior Java Programmer/Analyst for an onsite role. The ideal candidate will be responsible for software development, including the creation and maintenance of application interfaces between various data sources and applications. This position requires a self-starter who can prioritize complex tasks in a dynamic work environment and collaborate effectively across organizational lines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain application interfaces (APIs) using Java and similar object-oriented languages.
  • Develop microservices and deploy them on the Google Cloud Platform.
  • Work with SQL database technologies such as MSSQL or DB2.
  • Utilize API Gateway tools for interface management.
  • Manage builds with Jenkins and use automated testing frameworks like JUnit.
  • Use Git and GitHub for source control management.
  • Implement Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CICD) methodologies.
Required Qualifications

Education: A bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, or a related field is required.

Experience: A minimum of 7 years of experience in software development is required, including creating and maintaining application interfaces. Additionally, at least 1 year of experience with DevOps is necessary.

Technical Skills:
  • Java development experience, including Spring Framework, Eclipse, Maven, and Gradle.
  • Experience with REST, JSON, or SOAP web interfaces.
  • Hands-on experience with microservice development and deployment on Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience with SQL databases (MSSQL, DB2) and Jenkins build management.
  • Familiarity with Git and GitHub for source control.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with the full software development life cycle (SDLC) and working in Agile/Scrum teams.
  • Experience with No-SQL database technology.
  • Adept at building team relationships and partnering across organizational lines.
  • Strong conceptual and analytical skills, demonstrating problem-solving abilities.
