Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Cloud & AI Architect to lead the design, architecture, and implementation of secure, scalable, and ethical AI solutions supporting government and public service initiatives. This role requires deep expertise in enterprise architecture, AWS cloud technologies, AI/ML, and Generative AI while providing architectural leadership across multiple projects and mentoring technical teams.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing enterprise cloud solutions, modernizing applications, implementing AI/ML platforms, and developing cloud-native architectures that meet security, compliance, and scalability requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement secure, scalable, and compliant AI/ML solutions using AWS and hybrid cloud environments.
Lead enterprise-wide cloud architecture and application modernization initiatives.
Design, architect, and develop cloud-native applications operating within AWS environments.
Evaluate and recommend architectural approaches for private, public, and hybrid cloud deployments (IaaS, PaaS, and cloud services).
Develop enterprise AI/ML architectures leveraging modern AI platforms and frameworks.
Evaluate AI technologies including Azure ML, AWS SageMaker, Google Vertex AI, and PyTorch.
Design Generative AI (GenAI) and Large Language Model (LLM) solutions for public sector use cases.
Ensure AI implementations align with Responsible AI principles, ethical AI frameworks, and bias mitigation practices.
Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders across multiple initiatives.
Lead architectural governance, technical planning, and solution reviews.
Mentor architects and technical teams while providing technical leadership.
Develop project plans, monitor progress, and oversee implementation activities.
Support cloud implementations and AI modernization initiatives across State Agencies.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor''''s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, or equivalent professional experience.
Minimum 10 years of overall IT experience.
Minimum 5 years of enterprise full-life cycle architecture experience.
Minimum 5 years of application architecture experience, including application development and modernization.
Extensive experience designing and implementing enterprise applications on AWS.
Experience designing solution architectures for private, public, and hybrid cloud environments.
Strong expertise in Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning, and Natural Language Processing (NLP).
Experience designing secure, scalable, and compliant AI/ML solutions.
Experience evaluating enterprise AI platforms and frameworks.
Strong understanding of cloud architecture principles and enterprise integration.

Experience supporting digital transformation initiatives within government organizations.
Candidate Requirements
Must currently reside in the Metro Atlanta area.
Must be available to work on-site throughout the engagement.
Must be able to start within two weeks of selection.
Extended absences exceeding two weeks require prior approval.

The ideal candidate is a senior-level AWS Cloud and AI Architect with extensive enterprise architecture experience, strong AI/ML expertise, and proven success delivering secure cloud-native AI solutions.
