Sr IT Security Operations Analyst

The Ventura Group is seeking a highly experienced IT Security Operations Analyst  to serve as key personnel supporting a high-visibility Federal Government program.

Clearance Level: Can obtain a Public Trust clearance

Travel: Up to 15% CONUS 

About the Job: The IT Security Operations Analyst lead will work with the Patch Management team to align security processes, provide policies/procedures outlining security standards and operational goals.

 The IT Security Operations Analyst will be responsible for:

• Design, implement, and manage network systems to ensure optimal performance and security.
• Align security processes, policies/procedures with established security standards and operational goals.
• Collaborate with the Patch Management Team to support enterprise security and compliance initiatives.
• Assess malware activity and evaluate potential impacts to systems, infrastructure, and operations.
• Review vulnerability scan results to identify security risks and prioritize remediation efforts.
• Analyze infrastructure configurations and security controls to ensure compliance with organizational policies and practices.
• Manage the distribution and deployment of Microsoft operating system patches across the enterprise environment.
• Deploy third-party software patches using Enterprise Lifecycle Management Services (ELMS) and Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM).
• Monitor patching activities to verify successful installation, compliance, and system stability.
• Investigate security findings and recommend corrective actions to reduce vulnerabilities and strengthen system security.
• Support continuous improvement of security operations by identifying opportunities to enhance patch management, vulnerability management, and compliance processes

Qualifications/Experience required:

• 2 years of experience with patching and vulnerability management.
• Certifications: CompTIA Security + certification can be used to substitute for 1 year of experience.
• BS Degree in Information Systems or related technical discipline / work experience.
