Job Description – Senior Business Analyst

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Business Analyst with 13+ years of experience in business analysis, requirements management, process improvement, and technology-driven projects. The ideal candidate will have strong experience working with business stakeholders, product owners, development teams, and senior leadership to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.

The candidate should possess excellent analytical, communication, documentation, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills, along with strong knowledge of SDLC and Agile methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead business analysis activities for complex, enterprise-level IT projects.
• Work closely with stakeholders to understand business objectives, processes, and requirements.
• Gather, analyze, validate, and document business and functional requirements.
• Conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops, requirement-gathering sessions, and process discussions.
• Create Business Requirements Documents (BRD), Functional Requirements Documents (FRD), User Stories, Use Cases, Process Flows, and Acceptance Criteria.
• Translate business requirements into clear and actionable specifications for technical teams.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Project Managers, Architects, Developers, QA teams, and other stakeholders.
• Analyze current business processes and identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
• Perform As-Is and To-Be process analysis and develop process flow diagrams.
• Manage requirement traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support development and testing teams by clarifying requirements and resolving functional questions.
• Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT), test planning, test case review, and defect analysis.
• Analyze data and prepare reports to support business decisions.
• Identify project risks, dependencies, gaps, and potential business impacts.
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
• Support Product Owners in prioritizing requirements and maintaining product backlogs.
• Present findings, recommendations, and project updates to senior management and business stakeholders.
• Mentor junior Business Analysts and establish business analysis best practices.

Required Technical & Business Skills

• 13+ years of experience as a Business Analyst / Senior Business Analyst.
• Strong experience in requirements gathering, analysis, validation, and documentation.
• Strong understanding of SDLC and software development methodologies.
• Extensive experience with Agile/Scrum, Waterfall, and Hybrid methodologies.
• Experience creating:

  • Data Flow Diagrams
  • Acceptance Criteria
  • Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM)
• Strong knowledge of Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with SQL and database concepts.
• Ability to perform data analysis and validate business requirements using SQL.
• Strong understanding of APIs, integrations, web applications, and enterprise systems.
• Experience with UAT, functional testing, defect management, and test coordination.
• Strong stakeholder and vendor management experience.
• Excellent documentation and presentation skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Business Process Modeling (BPM) and process optimization.
• Knowledge of UML, BPMN, and data modeling.
• Experience with REST APIs and system integrations.
• Experience with cloud-based applications such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Exposure to Power BI, Tableau, or other reporting/analytics tools.
• Experience with digital transformation and application modernization projects.
• Knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD concepts.
• Experience working with large enterprise applications and distributed teams.
• Experience in product management or Product Owner responsibilities is a plus.
