Database Administrator
On-site | Austin, TX | Contract
We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Austin, Texas. This role involves overseeing advanced database management tasks, optimizing performance, and ensuring seamless integration with cloud-based systems. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting applications with complex data models, workflows, and reporting requirements within an Agile Scrum environment.
Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain database systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
Perform data modeling, prototyping, and logical and physical database design.
Optimize database performance through advanced performance tuning techniques.
Implement database security measures and execute recovery procedures to safeguard data.
Support data migration processes and integrate databases with cloud platforms such as Azure.
Develop and maintain standards for data integrity, redundancy control, and database accessibility.
Create test environments, libraries, and procedures to support application development.
Evaluate and incorporate user requests for new data elements and systems into the existing database environment.
Provide technical assistance to users and ensure compliance with accessibility standards.
Assist in the installation, analysis, and benchmarking of database management software.
Requirements
Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL Database, and MySQL.
Strong skills in database performance tuning and optimization.
Experience with database security and disaster recovery procedures.
Knowledge of data modeling and relational database design principles.
Familiarity with Agile Scrum methodologies and cloud platforms.
Ability to analyze, design, and implement database solutions.
Working knowledge of accessibility standards and assistive technologies.
Solid understanding of computer systems analysis, programming languages, and database theories.
