Job Description:

Apex Systems is looking to hire an ONSITE Test Technician for our client based out of Greensboro, NC.

This assignment is anticipated to be a 6-month contract with strong potential for extension; however, Apex Systems cannot guarantee the length of this assignment.

This will also have a first-shift Monday-Friday schedule.

Responsibilities:
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot test instrumentation and data acquisition equipment.
  • Support vehicle and equipment testing activities through setup, execution, and teardown of test programs.
  • Collaborate with engineers and technical teams to execute test plans and ensure accurate data collection.
  • Assist with mechanical modifications, component changes, cable routing, sensor installation, and test hardware integration.
  • Perform inspections, diagnostics, and troubleshooting activities to quickly identify and resolve issues encountered during testing.
  • Provide feedback regarding test procedures, test setups, and observed vehicle or system performance.
  • Conduct temporary repairs and corrective actions to minimize testing downtime.
  • Follow established testing procedures, routes, and operational requirements while maintaining a strong focus on safety.
  • Document observations, test results, and equipment issues using electronic tools and reporting systems.
  • Develop familiarity with vehicle systems, components, and testing methodologies to support ongoing development activities.
  • Support offsite testing activities and travel as required.

Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or vocational training preferred.
  • Experience supporting testing, mechanical, automotive, transportation, industrial equipment, or related technical environments.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience working with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Experience installing and supporting instrumentation, sensors, wiring, or data acquisition systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Experience documenting findings, writing reports, and communicating technical observations.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Technical Skills:
  • Experience with test instrumentation, sensors, and data collection systems.
  • Knowledge of automated testing equipment and testing methodologies.
  • Familiarity with NVH (Noise, Vibration & Harshness) testing environments.
  • Exposure to Vehicle Dynamics testing and evaluation.
  • Exposure to ADAS / Active Safety Systems testing is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications including:
    • Word
    • Excel
    • PowerPoint
    • Outlook
  • Comfortable using computers, tablets, and mobile devices for documentation and communication.

Nice to Have:
  • Previous testing experience within automotive, transportation, commercial vehicle, or related industries.
  • CDL license preferred.
  • Experience supporting engineering validation, development, or prototype testing activities.
  • Knowledge of data acquisition systems and instrumentation setup.
  • Experience traveling to support field testing activities.
