The Work

The Database Management Analyst III serves as a senior expert responsible for the design, implementation, management, and optimization of complex database systems to support mission-critical functions. This role requires advanced proficiency in developing, maintaining, and securing database environments while ensuring high availability, integrity, and reliability of data. The analyst leads data modeling initiatives, develops database standards and procedures, and performs in-depth analysis to enhance data quality and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and implement complex database structures to meet organizational and project requirements.
  • Monitor, maintain, and update database systems to ensure optimal data accuracy, consistency, and integrity.
  • Analyze and optimize database performance, troubleshooting issues and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Implement and enforce database security measures in compliance with federal regulations and best practices.
  • Develop and manage backup, restoration, and disaster recovery procedures to support data availability and continuity of operations.
  • Conduct data migration, transformation, and integration across multiple platforms and systems.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for database structures, procedures, and maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate effectively with software developers, system administrators, business analysts, and other stakeholders to resolve database-related issues and support program objectives.
  • Ensure all database activities adhere to applicable laws, regulations, policies, and government standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior database staff, supporting professional development and knowledge sharing within the team.

Qualifications

Qualifications - Here's What You Need
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field is required. However, the client will accept a minimum of 18 years of directly relevant professional experience as a substitute for the educational requirement.
  • 15+ years of professional experience in engineering or IT.
  • Experience leading a team in software development and computer-based training.
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP).
  • Secret Clerance is required.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required to perform the duties associated with this position due to the sensitive nature of the work.
  • Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.

Minimum Skills:
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate in a clear, professional, and articulate manner.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high-level attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast past environment with changing priorities; adaptable to change and a quick learner.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work well independently as well as on a multi-functional team.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
  • Proficient in MS Office, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 20 + years of professional experience in engineering or IT.
  • Integrated Training and Maintenance Support Suite (ITMSS) software development experience.

Working Conditions
  • Professional remote office environment.
  • Must be physically and mentally able to perform duties extended periods of time.
  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed to meet the demands of this position.

  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time looking at computer screen.

Pay Range

USD $145,000.00 - USD $180,000.00 /Yr.
