About the Opportunity 

 Salesforce Technical Architect to support strategic, large-scale enterprise Salesforce initiatives for a highly technical global organization. The work includes greenfield implementations, platform transformations, post-production enhancements, new development, and AI-enabled and agentic solutions using Agentforce, Data Cloud, external enterprise large language models, and modern interoperability standards such as the Model Context Protocol. 

This is not a traditional Salesforce support or staff-augmentation assignment. The Technical Architect will operate within a project-based, milestone-driven delivery model and will own architecture decisions, technical quality, implementation direction, and successful delivery outcomes. 

The strongest candidate combines deep Salesforce expertise with consulting judgment, business-facing communication, and the ability to determine when AI or agentic approaches create value and when a deterministic or conventional solution is more appropriate. 

Role Overview 

The Salesforce Technical Architect will lead the design and implementation of scalable enterprise Salesforce solutions and work closely with business stakeholders, product leaders, functional analysts, developers, administrators, data specialists, and distributed delivery teams. 

The role requires a leader who progressed from hands-on Salesforce development into architecture and can own platform design, integration strategy, data architecture, security and sharing, technical governance, environment strategy, and implementation quality. 

The architect must be comfortable navigating ambiguity, understanding the business context behind a request, and balancing immediate delivery needs with the long-term health of the Salesforce platform. The role also requires an agentic mindset, including the ability to design solutions in which AI agents access data, call tools, and take actions safely, securely, and observably. 

Key Responsibilities 

Lead technical architecture for enterprise Salesforce implementations, platform transformations, enhancements, and AI-enabled initiatives. 
Partner with business and technology stakeholders to understand business objectives, operating processes, desired outcomes, and technical constraints. 
Translate complex requirements into scalable, maintainable, secure, and delivery-ready Salesforce solution architectures. 
Design solutions using Service Cloud, Agentforce, Data Cloud, Salesforce Flow, Apex, Lightning Web Components, APIs, integrations, and declarative platform capabilities. 
Define Salesforce data models, security architecture, sharing models, integration patterns, automation strategies, platform standards, and environment approaches. 
Provide architectural direction for permission sets, profiles, roles, sharing rules, objects, fields, record types, validation, automation, and administrative configuration. 
Determine when a requirement should be addressed through declarative configuration, Flow, custom development, enterprise integration, Data Cloud, or Agentforce. 
Design Agentforce solutions that align agents, topics, instructions, actions, grounding, data access, security, guardrails, escalation paths, and user experience with measurable business outcomes. 
Define how Data Cloud should be used to ingest, unify, govern, and activate enterprise customer and operational data for Salesforce and Agentforce use cases. 
Architect secure integration between Salesforce, Agentforce, external enterprise LLMs, and AI services using APIs and modern interoperability standards, including MCP where appropriate. 
Apply agentic design patterns involving tool calling, retrieval-augmented generation, orchestration, evaluation, observability, and human-in-the-loop controls. 
Assess AI limitations such as non-determinism, hallucination, context limits, latency, cost, and data-privacy exposure, and recommend conventional approaches when they provide a safer or more reliable outcome. 
Establish responsible-AI delivery standards, including least-privilege access, auditability, human oversight, evaluation, testing, and review of AI-generated code and configuration. 
Lead technical discussions with senior business stakeholders, engineering leaders, architects, and delivery teams, explaining decisions, tradeoffs, risks, and recommendations clearly. 
Create and review architecture diagrams, technical designs, integration specifications, implementation plans, development standards, and operational guidance. 
Provide hands-on leadership and mentorship to developers and administrators, review solution quality, and unblock complex architecture, integration, security, data, and delivery issues. 
Remain engaged throughout discovery, architecture, design, development, testing, deployment, release readiness, and production transition across onshore and offshore teams. 
Required Qualifications 

8+ years of experience designing, developing, implementing, and supporting Salesforce solutions. 
Proven experience as a Salesforce Technical Architect, Senior Salesforce Architect, Solution Architect, or Lead Salesforce Developer on complex enterprise programs. 
A strong hands-on Salesforce development foundation with the ability to guide developers and evaluate implementation quality. 
Deep experience with Apex, Lightning Web Components, Salesforce Flow, Salesforce data modeling, security and sharing, permission sets, profiles, roles, objects, fields, record types, automation, REST and SOAP APIs, enterprise integration patterns, error handling, monitoring, and release processes. 
Strong implementation experience with Service Cloud. 
Demonstrated experience designing or implementing Agentforce solutions or other Salesforce-based agentic AI capabilities. 
Practical understanding of agents, topics, instructions, actions, grounding, guardrails, security, human escalation, and integration with business processes. 
Experience designing or implementing Data Cloud solutions, including data ingestion, identity or profile unification, governance, segmentation, and activation. 
Experience making architecture decisions across declarative configuration, Flow, custom code, enterprise integration, Data Cloud, and Agentforce. 
Strong consulting and communication skills, including the ability to work directly with senior business and engineering stakeholders and explain complex technical decisions in clear language. 
Experience supporting the full delivery lifecycle within project-based, milestone-driven, Agile or iterative environments and distributed delivery teams. 
Preferred Qualifications 

Experience with Sales Cloud as part of a broader enterprise Salesforce transformation. 
Experience designing greenfield Salesforce environments or modernizing legacy platforms, technical debt, and multiple Salesforce organizations. 
Experience supporting both net-new development and post-production enhancement programs. 
Experience implementing MCP servers or clients, or securely exposing Salesforce data, tools, and actions to AI agents through MCP. 
Experience with retrieval-augmented generation, prompt engineering, LLM evaluation, observability, and AI guardrail frameworks. 
Experience defining responsible-AI or AI-governance standards for enterprise delivery. 
Experience with API-first, event-driven, or complex enterprise integration architectures and data-governance requirements. 
Relevant Salesforce certifications such as Application Architect, System Architect, Platform Developer I or II, Service Cloud Consultant, Data Cloud Consultant, or AI Specialist. 
Progress toward the Salesforce Certified Technical Architect credential. The CTA certification itself is not required.
