Senior Azure Cloud Engineer / Azure SRE
Become part of an experienced cloud engineering organization leading large-scale Azure modernization initiatives across the enterprise. This senior individual contributor position is centered on optimizing and expanding an established Azure ecosystem rather than building a new environment from scratch. You''ll work closely with cloud architects, security, networking, data, and application teams to strengthen platform reliability, automation, and cloud engineering best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Optimize Azure Landing Zone architecture and strengthen secure cloud platform capabilities.
- Expand infrastructure-as-code practices using Bicep, ARM, and Terraform while improving CI/CD workflows through Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.
- Champion Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles, including service level objectives, observability, incident management, and participation in on-call support.
- Maintain, optimize, and scale Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and containerized workloads.
- Increase platform resilience through enhanced monitoring, disaster recovery planning, security improvements, and operational readiness.
- Partner with Enterprise Architecture and application development teams to deliver Azure and Microsoft 365 cloud solutions.
- Drive automation initiatives and promote DevOps best practices throughout the organization.
- Design and support identity and access management solutions utilizing Entra ID, Azure AD B2C, and federation technologies.
- Participate in Agile development processes, peer code reviews, and continuous improvement efforts.
Required Qualifications
Experience
- 8+ years of experience in cloud engineering.
- 5+ years designing, implementing, or supporting Azure architecture and Site Reliability Engineering practices.
- Proven experience supporting highly available, production-scale cloud environments.
Technical Skills
- Deep expertise across Azure services, including Landing Zones, AKS, Virtual Networks, Blob Storage, Entra ID, Azure Policy, and related platform services.
- Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD technologies, including Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, Azure DevOps, and GitHub Actions.
- Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Azure Monitor, Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Knowledge of Azure security services, including Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel, and Azure Key Vault.
- Experience working with Kubernetes, Docker, and container-based platforms.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and Azure AD B2C.
- Experience supporting microservices-based applications within the .NET Core ecosystem.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both technical teams and executive stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the confidence to recommend architectural improvements.
- Demonstrated experience mentoring engineers and providing technical leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Azure certifications such as AZ-305, AZ-400, AZ-500, or Kubernetes certifications including CKA or CKAD.
- Experience working with Azure Arc and AI/ML workloads.
- Knowledge of GitOps tools such as Flux or ArgoCD, along with Ansible and chaos engineering practices.
- Background supporting regulated industries or compliance frameworks, including HIPAA or SOX.
- Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
