Job Summary

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a Mid Computer Engineer position. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse and high-performing team dedicated to mission success.

The Mid Computer Engineer will support Navy C4I programs by designing, developing, testing, and maintaining complex computer hardware, software, and networked systems for naval platforms. In this senior-level role, the engineer will lead system integration efforts, support cybersecurity initiatives, and perform advanced testing and troubleshooting across critical shipboard systems, including propulsion, navigation, and steering.

Key Responsibilities

The Mid Computer Engineer will:

• Design, develop, and test advanced computer hardware and software supporting combat systems, propulsion, navigation, and shipboard network systems
• Develop, debug, and maintain code for operating systems, network distribution, and complex system algorithms
• Lead installation, maintenance, and modernization efforts for hardware and software systems, including support at Naval Surface Warfare Centers (NSWC)
• Analyze user requirements, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and enhance cybersecurity protocols for mission-critical systems
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, perform data analysis, and present detailed progress reports and recommendations to leadership

Requirements

Skills and Experience

The Mid Computer Engineer must have:

• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
• 7+ years of experience in computer engineering, software development, or network systems
• Experience supporting Navy programs
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and lead or contribute effectively within cross-functional teams

Education and Certifications

The Mid Computer Engineer must have the following:

• Master's degree in Computer, Electrical or Electronics Engineering or Mathematics with field of concentration in computer science

Security Clearance

A high-level Department of Defense active security clearance is/may be required. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to government information.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner, and that may include lifting up to thirty pounds, as necessary.
