Staff Engineer, Supplier Quality Engineering

Location: Boston, MA
Salary: $60.00 USD Hourly - $75.00 USD Hourly
Description: Our client is currently seeking a Staff Engineer, Supplier Quality Engineering for a 12 month + contract.

External Lead Auditor certification is required.

Will require 20-25% travel within the US.

Medical device experience is preferred.

Negotiates favorable terms, volume discounts and long-term contracts with suppliers and prepares and processes requisitions and purchase orders for the procurement of technical equipment, custom engineered products, systems, software or components.

Acquires and maintains understanding of technology trends, market forces, cost trends and supplier technology road maps.

Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy and discusses defects and delivery problems with suppliers and negotiates refunds.

This is a highly specialized individual contributor role that requires deep expertise from a professional / technical thought leader in their respective field or discipline.

This position typically requires extensive experience in a specialized field and an advanced college degree or equivalent.

As a key expert, the job requires in-depth knowledge and understanding within one discipline.

They are regarded within the organization as a technical 'expert' in their particular field.

The job covers a wide range of activities that require complex judgements and solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought comparing and selecting complex alternatives.

In-depth analysis with interpretative thinking will be required to define problems and develop innovative solutions. This job typically requires a degree or equivalent and a minimum of 10 or more years experience.
