We are looking for an Azure Technical/Solution Architect within the US Government and Public Sector Technology Hub. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering solution designs and architectures for key initiatives hosted in primarily in a cloud hosted government platform, and considering re-use, scalability, and reliability in alignment with our client's mission and strategy. In this role you will also create reliable solution plans that include cost estimates and optimized delivery approaches by working with the business, multi-disciplinary teams including our peers in Technical Solution Management and Product Costing.
Providing Technical leadership & subject matter expertise to client engagements focusing on complex & innovative products and reusable assets within the context of Azure/Azure Gov Platform services.
Lead end-to-end solution architecture and design for cloud-based (Azure/Azure Gov) initiatives, ensuring scalability, reliability, and alignment to business strategy and standards.
Provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise across multiple projects, guiding architecture decisions and driving consensus among cross-functional stakeholders.
Develop high-level solution overviews and detailed infrastructure designs that balance cost, risk, and quality to support business investment decisions.
Collaborate with engineering teams, product managers, and vendors to translate business requirements into secure, scalable technical solutions and reusable assets.
Ensure adherence to architecture standards, security policies, and best practices, while monitoring solution quality and supporting issue resolution across the delivery lifecycle.
Although this position is remote, the first week of employment will be onsite (M-F) for team collaboration efforts. Preferred candidate locations are: New York, Philadelphia, and Alpharetta GA.
Active Secret clearance preferred, not mandatory. Must be able to obtain a Secret Security clearance.
Advanced understanding of Azure/Azure Gov (Gateways, Firewalls, Containers, ADO, etc.) architecture.
Experience in architecting and designing technical solutions for Microsoft-centric solutions based on industry standards using (Azure) IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS capabilities.
Experience with any claims-based authentication (SAML/OAuth/OIDC), MFA, JIT, and/or RBAC / Ping etc.
Experience with configuration management and automation tools such as Azure DevOps, Ansible, Puppet, Octopus, Chef, Salt, etc.
Experience with multi-geography, multi-tier service design and management
Experience in data movement and transformation technologies
Knowledge of cloud security controls including tenant isolation, encryption at rest, encryption in transit, key management, vulnerability assessments, application firewalls, SIEM, etc.
Ability to adopt and relate new technologies to the set of problems we face at EY while adhering to security and other EY standards
Deep understanding of Application, Infrastructure and security architecture and non-functional aspects like Performance, Scalability, Reliability, Availability, all the so-called -capabilities- of a system
Good understanding of latest cloud computing and data technologies, business drivers, emerging computing trends, and deployment options
Highly skilled in defining, designing, and developing distributed and scalable products and services, including reusable domain-specific microservices on multi-platform /hybrid clouds (such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Rackspace, VMware, or OpenStack)
