The ideal candidate has experience in Trust & Safety, AI policy operations, machine learning-adjacent operations, research program administration, or grants review. The role requires sound judgment, policy-driven decision-making, and sufficient familiarity with machine learning concepts to assess research proposals and identify potential misuse or abuse concerns.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and evaluate access requests related to AI research and development activities.
  • Assess the credibility, legitimacy, and technical plausibility of stated research use cases.
  • Apply established access policies, eligibility criteria, and safeguards consistently.
  • Identify potential abuse risks, suspicious research claims, and requests that require additional scrutiny.
  • Evaluate whether proposed use cases align with permitted research activities and access requirements.
  • Document review findings, decision rationales, and supporting evidence.
  • Escalate ambiguous, high-risk, or policy-sensitive cases to the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with AI research, policy, Trust & Safety, and enforcement teams to improve review quality and consistency.
  • Maintain accurate case records and meet established review turnaround expectations.
  • Provide feedback on recurring abuse patterns and opportunities to improve future review automation.

Required Qualifications
  • Experience in Trust & Safety, policy operations, AI safety operations, research administration, grants review, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to make evidence-based decisions using established policies and review criteria.
  • Familiarity with machine learning concepts, AI research workflows, or technical research environments.
  • Ability to assess the credibility and stated purpose of research-related requests.
  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to document clear decision rationales and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Sound judgment when evaluating ambiguous cases and determining when escalation is necessary.
