Job Summary:
We are seeking a Systems Engineer Mid to support the stability, scalability, and performance of cloud-based networks and distributed systems. This role focuses on ensuring reliable operations across virtualized and cloud environments by performing system integration, validation, and performance analysis.
The selected candidate will develop proactive engineering solutions, monitor system health, and drive continuous improvements across cloud infrastructure, tools, and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the stability and sustainability of cloud-based networks, software systems, and distributed virtual environments.
- Perform system integration, verification, and validation (IV&V) activities for enterprise systems.
- Analyze system performance, reliability, and supportability to ensure operational effectiveness.
- Develop proactive monitoring and engineering mechanisms to manage the health of distributed VMs and cloud resources.
- Conduct functional analysis, timeline analysis, and trade studies to support system design and optimization.
- Perform requirements allocation and interface definition for hardware and software components.
- Identify performance bottlenecks and configuration issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Utilize metrics, logs, and trends to recommend improvements in existing frameworks, tools, and processes.
- Troubleshoot system issues related to functionality, performance, and configuration across cloud environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including DevOps, network engineering, and security teams.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in systems engineering, cloud engineering, or related roles.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or OCI.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, virtualization, and cloud infrastructure.
- Experience with system integration, testing, and validation methodologies.
- Ability to analyze system performance and troubleshoot complex issues.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting federal or government environments.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana).
- Understanding of networking concepts, security principles, and cloud architecture.
- Experience working with distributed systems and large-scale virtual machine environments.
Certifications:
- IAT Level II (Required)
- One or more cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, OCI preferred)
