Position Description:deciBel Research has an immediate opening for a Sr. Software Engineer in Huntsville, AL.
Become a part of something IMPACT-ful! Ground Missile Defense (GMD) is the heart of the Missile Defense System and a key element of our nation's defense against ballistic missile attacks.
The GMD Weapon System (GWS) processes data from multiple sensors to identify and characterize the inbound ballistic missile threat, plans the best defensive solution, and launches the intercepting missiles to negate the threat.
The selected software Engineer responsibilities will include the support of the GWS-GSS IPT. You will be responsible for software development execution and then will monitor, measure, control and report on the test progress, the product quality status and the test results, adapting the test plan and compensating as needed to adjust for evolving conditions.
Education Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university
Experience Requirements:- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree and 3 years of related experience, or PhD and 1 year of experience
- Experience developing software in C++ and Java
- Experience with embedded SW development
- Experience with Python or other scripting languages
- Prior experience with ethernet TCP/IP interfaces
- Applicants must have a current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD issued Secret security clearance at the time of application which is required to start
Special Skills Desired:- Familiarity with Agile software development practices and Atlassian toolset.
