Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior AWS Cloud Engineer to join our engineering team and help build a modern cloud platform in a greenfield environment. This is a hands-on senior engineering role focused on designing, building, and automating cloud infrastructure, rather than simply maintaining existing systems.

The ideal candidate will have deep experience with AWS account management, IAM, networking, cloud infrastructure, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, and Kubernetes. You should be comfortable working independently, making architectural decisions, and establishing scalable engineering practices from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and manage scalable AWS cloud infrastructure across multiple accounts and environments.
• Develop and implement AWS account structures, IAM policies, roles, permissions, and security controls.
• Design and implement AWS networking, including VPCs, subnets, routing, security groups, load balancers, and connectivity.
• Build and maintain cloud infrastructure using Terraform and TypeScript CDK.
• Develop robust GitHub Actions workflows for CI/CD, infrastructure deployment, testing, and automation.
• Design, build, and administer Kubernetes environments, with hands-on Amazon EKS experience preferred.
• Establish reusable infrastructure patterns, modules, workflows, and engineering standards.
• Automate cloud provisioning, deployments, configuration, and operational processes.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to define platform architecture and enable application teams to deploy efficiently.
• Troubleshoot complex cloud, networking, IAM, Kubernetes, and CI/CD issues.
• Operate independently in a greenfield environment and drive technical decisions with minimal oversight.
• Help establish best practices around cloud security, reliability, scalability, observability, and automation.

Required Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Deep expertise in:
  • AWS account management and multi-account environments
  • AWS IAM
  • AWS networking
  • Cloud infrastructure and security
• Strong experience developing GitHub Actions workflows and implementing CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong Terraform experience for Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience with TypeScript CDK (AWS CDK) for infrastructure provisioning.
• Solid Kubernetes experience.
• Strong engineering fundamentals and software development practices.
• Ability to work independently and solve complex technical problems.
• Experience working in greenfield cloud/platform environments.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience administering and building Amazon EKS clusters.
• Experience designing Kubernetes cluster architecture and networking.
• Experience with AWS Organizations, Control Tower, or similar multi-account governance solutions.
• Experience with cloud security and least-privilege IAM design.
• Experience building reusable Terraform modules and AWS CDK constructs.
• Experience with containerization and Docker.
• Experience with cloud monitoring, logging, and observability.
• Experience establishing internal developer platforms or cloud platform engineering practices.
