Civil/Structural Engineer (Contract)
We are seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer to support planning, analysis, and design activities for power plant projects with some of the nation's leading energy providers. This role will be involved in developing engineering plans, construction drawings, specifications, design calculations, and technical reports while supporting multidisciplinary project teams. Responsibilities include structural analysis and design of concrete and steel structures, equipment supports, heavy load components, seismic evaluations, and coordination with utilities and municipalities. Field support activities such as site investigations, installation support, walkdowns, and as built documentation will also be part of the position.
The ideal candidate will have experience developing 3D analytical models and performing Finite Element Analysis (FEA), including seismic analysis using response spectra methods. You will assist in producing design and construction drawings, support project execution, and help ensure assigned work is completed within scope, schedule, and budget requirements. Strong collaboration and communication skills are essential, as this role works closely with multiple engineering disciplines throughout the design and construction process.
Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and 2 to 5 years of relevant experience. A solid foundation in structural engineering principles, mechanics, hydraulics, materials science, and engineering analysis is required. Experience with Mathcad, MATLAB, FEA software, and technical report writing is highly desired.
