We are seeking an experienced and strategic PMO Manager to join the team of our exceptional client in Gray, ME (Hybrid). This leadership role focuses on building and developing a high-performing Project Management team while ensuring predictable delivery, cost control, and on-time execution of multidisciplinary, electronics-based NPD and NPI projects primarily within medical device environments.

This position requires strong technical fluency, leadership capability, and deep experience managing complex product development initiatives in regulated industries.

What will your day look like? As a PMO Manager, you will:

Lead and manage the Project Management team, including hiring, staffing, performance reviews, and career development
Mentor and coach Project Managers in planning, execution, and technical decision-making
Build and implement PMO processes, tools, and standards to ensure regulatory compliance, technical rigor, and predictable delivery
Oversee multiple concurrent NPD and NPI projects, ensuring alignment to scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives
Guide PMs in developing technically sound project plans while anticipating compliance, design, and manufacturing risks
Collaborate cross-functionally to remove blockers and ensure smooth project execution
Support Project Managers in managing customer expectations, scope changes, and trade-off decisions
Partner with Account Management to communicate project status, risks, and delivery plans in customer meetings and business reviews
Provide technically informed planning input to Sales for proposals and quotes
Foster a culture of accountability, technical curiosity, and continuous improvement
Identify opportunities to add value beyond baseline project scope


You will be a good fit for the PMO Manager role if you have:

Strong technical understanding of electronics, embedded systems, embedded software, and associated NPD processes
Familiarity with electronics-based manufacturing and NPI processes, including DFM/DFT, production test development, process development, and validation
Knowledge of medical device regulatory standards (ISO 13485, FDA, EU MDR) and best practices for compliance across NPD, NPI, and manufacturing
Ability to translate complex technical requirements into actionable project plans while balancing customer priorities and internal resources
Proficiency with project planning, scheduling, and resource management tools; Microsoft Project experience preferred
Strong experience managing customer expectations, scope adjustments, and trade-offs
Demonstrated leadership experience managing hiring, performance management, and career growth of Project Managers
Proven success in cross-functional leadership, risk management, and complex problem-solving
Excellent communication skills with both technical and business stakeholders


Education & Experience:

5 10 years of project management experience in electronics product development or contract manufacturing
Prior experience leading and developing a team of Project Managers
Engineering degree in electronics, systems integration, manufacturing engineering, or related field strongly preferred
Proven experience guiding multidisciplinary teams through design, verification, regulatory approval, and transfer-to-manufacturing
Experience in regulated industries strongly preferred, especially medical devices (automotive, defense, or other complex sectors also valued)
PMP or equivalent certification preferred
Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement experience a plus
