The Senior Property Accountant will be responsible for full-service accounting for a diverse real estate portfolio. This role focuses on ensuring financial integrity through accurate reporting, complex reconciliations, and strategic financial analysis. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated professional with extensive experience in Yardi and a deep understanding of commercial or multifamily property accounting.

Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting: Lead the month-end close process and prepare comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.

Job Details

Portfolio Management: Manage the general ledger for a complex portfolio, including recurring journal entries, bank reconciliations, and accruals.

CAM Reconciliations: Perform annual Common Area Maintenance (CAM) and real estate tax billings and reconciliations; assemble detailed backup documentation for tenant review.

Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and monthly forecasts, researching and explaining significant variances.

Lease Administration: Execute lease administration duties in Yardi, including entering new leases, processing default notices, and ensuring billing accuracy.

Accounts Payable/Receivable: Oversee A/R and A/P activity, providing guidance to junior staff to ensure proper coding and cash application.

Compliance & Audit: Prepare audit work papers and support the year-end external audit process. Calculate and process monthly privilege taxes and maintain compliance with local and state regulations.

Process Improvement: Identify and implement technology solutions or workflow enhancements to increase efficiency in financial reporting.

Qualifications: * Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

Experience: 4-5+ years of real estate property accounting experience (Commercial or Multifamily preferred).

Technical Skills: Proficiency in Yardi Voyager is highly preferred. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs).

Certifications: CPA or progress toward CPA is a plus.

Communication: Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to explain financial data to non-financial stakeholders.

Attributes: High attention to detail, analytical mindset, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
