Summary

Job Description

The Network/Systems Administrator will oversee the network and systems management at Kratos Defense & Rocket Support Services, Glen Burnie, MD facility. The Network/System Administrator will coordinate with and work alongside our enterprise Network & Server teams to support the local computer systems, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), network segments, intranets, and other data communication systems. This will also include helping architect, design and analyze infrastructure requirements. It will require participation in decisions about buying future hardware or software to upgrade organization's infrastructure. This position might be called upon to provide technical support to computer users to help solve users' problems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / DUTIES

  • Maintains and monitors system environment and equipment
  • Performs hardware/software/firmware/OS installation and upgrades
  • Configures systems to comply with the current CIS baselines
  • Adds and removes users in Active Directory, managing permission and account status
  • Creates/modifies/deletes security groups, as required, to ensure the systems' Active Directory structure and file structure is maintained
  • Conducts/supports routine maintenance requests on the infrastructure
  • Refreshes/replaces and configures existing hardware according to operational requirements and hardware lifecycle
  • Performs daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all resources
  • Ensures backup operations are taking place and successfully completing per defined SLA, ensure RPO/RTO is achievable
  • Conducts ongoing performance monitoring, and tuning/resource optimization
  • Mindful of and actively monitoring for system alerts, responding to and taking action to repair when needed
  • Monitor local infrastructure vulnerability scans and remediate as appropriate
  • Reports all information system violations of corporate policies to the SOC
  • Meets financial requirements by submitting information for budgets and monitoring expenses
  • Updates job knowledge by tracking emerging technologies, participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations.
  • Accomplishes organizational goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.


Experience and Skills

SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS

  • General Programming Skills (PowerShell, YAML)
  • System Administration (Windows - 10/11, Server 2019/2022+, Linux - RHEL, Rocky, Ubuntu)
  • General technical understanding and enterprise management
  • Provisioning/Imaging Standards
  • Telecommunications and Internet Technologies
  • Familiar with and able to thrive working amongst a globally distributed team
  • Dependability, Verbal Communication, and Ability to Handle Pressure and Learn on the Fly


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSING REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, or engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an IT role
  • In-depth knowledge of the modern LAN/WAN technologies, security architecture, securing and hardening Operating Systems, Networks, Databases and Applications.
  • Knowledge of the Incident Response life-cycle
  • Thorough understanding of the threat and attack landscape, attack vectors, vulnerabilities and how they are leveraged by malicious actors.
  • Security certifications, Database Administrator certifications.
