Overview
We are seeking an experienced API Integration Engineer who will design, build, and support scalable integrations across partner ecosystems. This role focuses on developing secure RESTful and event driven integrations, maintaining strong observability practices, and collaborating with cross functional teams. The ideal candidate communicates clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences and delivers stable, production ready APIs.
Key Responsibilities
API Integration and Development
* Lead end to end integrations with external partners and internal systems
* Design and implement REST APIs and webhook based integrations with clear versioning and backward compatibility
* Develop and maintain API documentation including OpenAPI and Swagger
* Build and support internal and external APIs for multiple client applications
Security and Authentication
* Implement OAuth2, token-based authentication flows, JWT, and mTLS
* Reduce integration defects by applying secure authentication patterns
Observability and Reliability
* Establish monitoring standards including SLIs, SLOs, dashboards, and alerting
* Improve MTTR through effective incident triage and production support
* Provide on call support during production rollouts and hotfixes
Collaboration and Delivery
* Partner with product and platform teams to align technical work with business requirements
* Work closely with QA and DevOps to improve quality through automated testing and CI/CD pipelines
* Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners
Required Skills and Experience
Core Technical Skills
* API design and integration using REST, JSON, and Webhooks
* Authentication and security including OAuth2, JWT, and mTLS
* API gateway experience with platforms such as Azure APIM, Kong, or Apigee
* Strong understanding of cloud architecture within Azure
* Observability and reliability using logs, metrics, and tracing
* CI/CD and DevOps automation
* Production support and incident response
Languages and Frameworks
* Java, C#, Python, JavaScript or TypeScript
* Spring Boot, .NET Core, Node.js
Data and Tools
* SQL and NoSQL databases
* Message queues
* Git, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Postman, Datadog
Preferred Certifications
- Azure Developer or Solutions Architect
