Job Description As an Associate Data Scientist, New College Grad, you will be a valuable contributor to one of Visa's dynamic data science teams. You will have the opportunity to apply your academic training and early professional experience to real business problems, build new technical and analytical skills, and contribute to work that helps advance Visa's products, services, and data-driven decision-making.
The Global Data Office brings together data scientists, analysts, statisticians, and business partners to develop analytical solutions using large-scale and complex datasets. This role will support analytics, data science, business intelligence, and machine learning work through a collaborative process with senior data scientists and cross-functional stakeholders.
All Visa roles require digital fluency, including the ability to work with emerging technologies such as Generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot) to support everyday work.

Responsibilities may include:
- Prepare, cleanse, integrate, and manage large datasets using tools such as Python, SQL, Spark, Hive, R, or SAS.
- Conduct exploratory, statistical, and machine learning-based analyses to uncover trends, patterns, and actionable business insights.
- Support the development, validation, and deployment of analytical models and data science solutions under guidance from senior team members.
- Build, maintain, and enhance dashboards, reports, and BI tools using platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools.
- Apply Generative AI or AI-assisted techniques, such as prompt engineering, text summarization, classification, or coding assistants, to improve analytical workflows and insight generation.
- Partner with product, strategy, marketing, operations, finance, and technology stakeholders to translate business questions into analytical approaches.
- Present findings and recommendations through clear data storytelling, explaining assumptions, limitations, and potential business impact to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Document methodologies, validate results, support user adoption, and recommend improvements to tools, processes, and analytical techniques.

Qualifications Basic Qualifications :
- Less than 6 months of relevant work experience with either Bachelor's or Master's degree graduating May 2026 - August 2027
Preferred Qualifications - Coursework, internship, project, or early professional experience in data analysis, quantitative modeling, data science, or data-driven decision-making.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python for data analysis, data wrangling, modeling, and automation.
- Experience extracting, transforming, aggregating, and analyzing large datasets using tools such as SQL, Python, R, Spark, Hive, or SAS.
- Solid foundation in statistics and machine learning, including regression, classification, clustering, model evaluation, exploratory data analysis, and feature engineering.
- Experience with visualization and reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Excel, PowerPoint, or similar platforms.
- Exposure to Generative AI or AI-assisted tools, including LLMs, coding assistants, AutoML, prompt engineering, text summarization, classification, or LLM-assisted analysis.
- Familiarity with responsible AI considerations, including data privacy, bias awareness, model limitations, and appropriate use of emerging technologies.
- Ability to communicate data-driven insights clearly to business stakeholders and translate analysis into actionable recommendations.
- Intellectual curiosity, strong collaboration skills, and a desire to continue learning in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
- Exposure to financial services, payments, credit cards, or merchant analytics is a plus, but not required.
