Senior Data Engineer with Azure

Job Description:

• Seeking a highly skilled and motivated Azure Data Engineer to join our Southeast Toyota Finance Data Engineering team. The Data Engineer will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining data solutions using Microsoft Azure technologies. You will work closely with Data Engineers, Data Architects, Data Analysts, Data Modelers, Report Developers, BU IT, and business stakeholders to deliver data solutions that support the company's strategic goals.

Responsibilities:

• Proficient in knowledge of business systems, applications, processes and data to support data solutions
• Designing, developing, and maintaining data solutions using Microsoft Azure technologies
• Foster communication and collaboration between different departments, communicate vision and strategy for ETL tools, pipelines, performance implication of solutions to stakeholders and leadership
• Provide strategic input and help set direction on data preparation and data modeling practices. Stay up to date with the latest tools and capabilities.
• Subject matter expert of ETL tools, pipelines, and performance implication of solutions
• Ability to design and implement highly scalable and reliable data solutions and certify the accuracy and reliability of BU data assets in an Agile environment
• Optimize and fine-tune data solutions for enhanced efficiency and performance
• Ability to work across and within multiple methodologies/ technologies/ business domains

Qualifications:

• Strong experience in data engineering within an enterprise or complex data environment
• Azure cloud platform knowledge. Azure Synapse specifically
• Exposure to Microsoft Purview (preferred but not required)
• Proficient in SQL, ETL processes, and data modeling
• Experience with system implementations and data migration (especially harmonizing legacy data with new systems)
• Ability to champion documentation and promote data governance practices
• Experience with Agile methodology and Azure DevOps preferred
• Experience in the automotive or captive finance industry is a plus
• Detail oriented, curious, and willing to contribute as a team player
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Nice to Have's:

• Industry experience in automotive or finance (not required, but a plus)
• Experience with Power BI, SAS, Cognos, or Tableau
• Past work in organizations with legacy-to-modern data platform transitions
