Summary

Status: Full-Time, Direct Hire, Hybrid - (TBD)

Due to U.S. government contract requirements, this position is limited to U.S. citizens. All candidates must be able to provide documentation verifying U.S. citizenship prior to employment.

We are looking for a pragmatically-minded Azure Platform Engineer who bridges the gap between traditional systems administration and modern cloud architecture. This is an "operations-first" role for someone who has climbed the ladder from SysAdmin to DevOps and understands that infrastructure is only as good as its reliability. You will be a key member of a tight-knit team, responsible for designing, automating, and maintaining a 100% Azure environment.

Your Core Responsibilities

  • Azure Ownership: Act as the primary steward of our Azure cloud footprint, overseeing everything from initial design and implementation to day-to-day operational health.

  • Deployment Excellence: Build and refine high-performance CI/CD pipelines via GitHub to ensure software delivery is seamless, repeatable, and secure.

  • Infrastructure as Code: Utilize Terraform to manage and scale environment resources, focusing on maintenance and iterative improvements to existing codebases.

  • Pragmatic Automation: Identify manual bottlenecks and eliminate them through scripting (PowerShell, Python, or Azure CLI) without over-engineering the solution.

  • Operational Integrity: Manage change control processes with discipline, ensuring all system modifications are documented, compliant, and safe.

  • Collaborative Troubleshooting: Partner with developers to diagnose complex production issues, focusing on root-cause analysis rather than quick fixes.

  • Modernization: Maintain and support containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes while exploring emerging tools like Microsoft Fabric.

Technical Requirements

  • Deep Azure Expertise: Extensive experience managing a production Azure environment, including App Services, Functions, SQL Database, Cosmos DB, and API integrations.

  • Cloud Networking & Security: Solid grasp of VNets, Firewalls, NSGs, and Identity/Access management.

  • Pipeline Mastery: Proven track record with GitHub Actions or similar tools for automated deployments and environment promotion.

  • Systems Background: A foundational understanding of Windows and Linux VM administration.

  • IaC Proficiency: Practical experience contributing to Terraform projects.

  • Agile Mindset: Comfortable working within Scrum/Agile frameworks in an independent yet highly communicative manner.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active Azure Certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or Administrator).

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric.

  • A "troubleshooting-first" mindset developed through a career progression from IT Support/SysAdmin to Cloud Engineering.
