Summary

job summary:

The Senior Technical Business Analyst serves as a key partner to Product Owners and


engineering teams by translating business capabilities and features into clear,


structured technical requirements. This role ensures development teams receive well-


defined, actionable user stories and technical context needed to efficiently deliver


solutions that align with business objectives.


The Senior TBA leads requirements analysis for complex initiatives, drives clarity across


systems and workflows, and ensures that solutions are both technically feasible and


operationally effective.

responsibilities:

1.Requirements Analysis & Story Decomposition


? Lead the breakdown of features into detailed user stories.


? Ensure requirements are clear, testable, and ready for development.


? Define detailed acceptance criteria, business rules, and functional specifications.


? Translate complex workflows into system interactions and technical


requirements.


2.System Understanding & Delivery Support


? Maintain a strong understanding of system architecture, integrations, and data


flows.


? Identify dependencies across systems and teams.


? Evaluate how proposed solutions impact existing workflows, systems, and


operational processes.


? Ensure backlog items are properly refined prior to sprint planning.


? Support sprint planning by ensuring user stories are clear and estimated.


? Assist QA teams in understanding requirements and validating expected


functionality.


? Help ensure delivered solutions align with business needs and operational


workflows.


? Facilitate discussions between business stakeholders, product teams, and


engineering teams to clarify requirements.


? Identify and communicate risks, assumptions, and dependencies.


? Ensure alignment across teams as solutions evolve.


3.Mentorship & Standards


? Provide guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level TBAs.


? Establish and promote best practices for requirement documentation and story


decomposition.


? Help improve team processes for requirements clarity, backlog refinement, and


development readiness.


4. Partner with Product Owners


? Collaborate closely with Product Owners to translate capabilities and features


into structured technical requirements.


? Ensure business intent is clearly understood and accurately reflected in


requirements and user stories.


? Support Product Owners by helping analyze complex problems and identify


solution considerations and trade-offs.


5.Engineering Collaboration


? Work closely with engineering teams to ensure stories are technically understood


and executable.


? Facilitate backlog refinement sessions with developers and architects.


? Collaborate with engineering on solution approaches, dependencies, and


feasibility considerations.


? Clarify requirements throughout development to support efficient delivery.


6. Partnership with Quality Assurance


? Partner closely with QA teams to ensure user stories include clear, complete,


and testable acceptance criteria.


? Ensure acceptance criteria accurately reflect the intended business behavior,


system rules, and edge cases.


? Collaborate with QA during backlog refinement to confirm stories are well


understood and ready for test planning.


? Clarify requirements and expected system behavior throughout development and


testing cycles.


? Assist in resolving requirement-related questions or ambiguities that arise during testing




qualifications:

? Strong experience translating business capabilities into technical requirements


? Expertise in breaking down features into actionable user stories


? Experience working within Agile / SDLC delivery frameworks


? Strong understanding of system integrations and workflows


? Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills


? Ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical audiences
