Position Summary:

The Project Engineer ? Structural Steel is responsible for designing, managing, and overseeing the construction of the company?s products for customers in various industries. This position ensures all project phases are executed efficiently to quality standards, leads process documentation and control initiatives, and supports the organization?s growth by contributing to team leadership. This role must bring technical expertise, strong organizational skills, and a proactive approach to project management.

Responsibilities:
    \t
  • Design and oversee construction of the company?s products, ensuring projects meet client specifications and industry standards. \t
  • Develop and maintain detailed project documentation, including design drawings, project plans, and process control protocols. \t
  • Coordinate with clients, architects, contractors, and internal teams to enable seamless project delivery. \t
  • Provide technical support during installation to ensure safety, quality, and smooth execution. \t
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently, prioritizing effectively and allocating resources as needed. \t
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of project processes and Standard Operating Procedures for the engineering department. \t
  • Assist in managing project budgets, schedules, and procurement activities. \t
  • Mentor junior staff, participate in strategic planning, and demonstrate an interest in managerial and leadership development.

Qualifications:
    \t
  • Bachelor?s Degree in Engineering or a related field is a plus. \t
  • 3+ years of experience. \t
  • Experience with 2D design (AutoCAD) and also 3D design. For 3D design, experience with SolidWorks and/or Tekla is a plus. \t
  • Experience with structural steel design. \t
  • Experience designing complex systems, performing structural calculations, and delivering detail-oriented solutions. \t
  • Understanding of steel design, fabrication, erection, and building construction processes. \t
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural, structural, and mechanical drawings. \t
  • Project management experience is a plus. \t
  • Proven success in the timely management and documentation of engineering projects. \t
  • Strong organizational skills with document and process control experience. \t
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective coordination with diverse stakeholders. \t
  • Experience with an ERP system is a plus. Experience with Epicor is a plus. \t
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed to project sites and industry events ? up to 5-10% of the time.
