Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (Oracle DBA) to manage, maintain, optimize, and support enterprise Oracle database environments. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with database administration, performance tuning, backup/recovery, high availability, and production support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and maintain Oracle databases across development, test, and production environments.

  • Perform database monitoring, health checks, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.

  • Manage Oracle RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, and other high-availability/disaster-recovery solutions.

  • Develop and maintain database backup and recovery strategies using RMAN.

  • Perform database recovery, cloning, refreshes, migrations, and upgrades.

  • Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues related to CPU, memory, I/O, SQL queries, locks, and waits.

  • Perform SQL and database performance tuning, including execution-plan analysis and indexing recommendations.

  • Manage users, roles, privileges, schemas, tablespaces, and database security.

  • Monitor database capacity and perform space management and growth planning.

  • Support database migrations between on-premises and cloud environments.

  • Automate routine DBA activities using Shell scripting, Python, or other scripting tools.

  • Troubleshoot production incidents and provide root-cause analysis.

  • Work closely with application, infrastructure, DevOps, and development teams to resolve database-related issues.

  • Participate in on-call/production support activities as required.

  • Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and database standards.

Required Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Database 12c/18c/19c/21c.

  • Strong knowledge of Oracle RAC and Data Guard.

  • Hands-on experience with RMAN backup and recovery.

  • Strong SQL and PL/SQL knowledge.

  • Database performance tuning and troubleshooting.

  • Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).

  • Strong knowledge of database security, users, roles, privileges, and auditing.

  • Experience with database upgrades, patching, migration, and cloning.

  • Strong Linux/Unix administration and Shell scripting skills.

  • Experience supporting large-scale production databases.

  • Strong understanding of high availability and disaster recovery concepts.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Oracle GoldenGate.

  • Experience with Oracle Exadata.

  • Experience with AWS/Azure/OCI database environments.

  • Cloud database migration experience.

  • Experience with automation and infrastructure-as-code tools.

  • Knowledge of PostgreSQL or other relational databases.

  • Experience with ITIL/production support processes.
