ForwardIT is seeking an experienced Security Lead to oversee cybersecurity operations, security compliance, and risk management for enterprise cloud and AI solutions.
The selected candidate will support the implementation and validation of security controls aligned with FedRAMP Moderate, NIST SP 800-53, and applicable federal cybersecurity requirements.
This position requires experience with security assessments, vulnerability management, security documentation, and protecting sensitive organizational data.
Key Responsibilities
Lead cybersecurity and security compliance activities for cloud-based enterprise solutions.
Implement and maintain security controls aligned with FedRAMP Moderate and NIST SP 800-53.
Support cybersecurity risk assessments, security reviews, and compliance validation.
Develop and maintain security documentation, policies, procedures, and compliance artifacts.
Coordinate vulnerability assessments, remediation efforts, and security monitoring activities.
Identify potential security risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
Collaborate with cloud architects, DevSecOps engineers, and technical teams to ensure secure system configurations.
Support continuous monitoring, incident response planning, and security reporting.
Oversee security practices related to AI applications, sensitive data, and cloud infrastructure.
Assist with audit preparation, security control reviews, and regulatory compliance activities.
Provide cybersecurity guidance and recommendations to technical teams and project leadership.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in cybersecurity, information assurance, security compliance, or related disciplines.
Strong understanding of NIST SP 800-53 security controls.
Familiarity with FedRAMP Moderate security requirements.
Experience supporting vulnerability management and security risk assessments.
Knowledge of cloud security principles and secure infrastructure practices.
Experience developing cybersecurity documentation and compliance reports.
Understanding of security monitoring, incident response, and data protection practices.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent cybersecurity certification.
Experience supporting federal government cybersecurity programs.
Familiarity with FedRAMP authorization and continuous monitoring processes.
Experience developing System Security Plans (SSPs), Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms), and security assessment documentation.
Experience with AWS security services and cloud-based security monitoring tools.
Familiarity with AI security risks and secure AI system deployment.
