Mandatory Skills:

The Senior DevOps Lead will help advance enterprise DevOps transformation and standardization agenda and drive the DevOps Toolchain roadmap within the SDLC Hub. Working closely with the Product Owner, this role will provide technical and transformation leadership, accelerate adoption, influence technical and executive stakeholders, and assume selected product ownership responsibilities.
This is a senior platform and transformation leadership role, not primarily an operational DevOps engineering position. Global collaboration across time zones and occasional travel may be required.

Other Relationships:

Enterprise Architecture, Cybersecurity, Cloud and Platform Engineering, Quality, Testing, Product Owners, engineering teams, technology leaders, strategic partners, and managed service providers.
10+ years of technology or software-engineering experience with significant depth in DevOps, DevSecOps, platform engineering, or software-delivery transformation.
Proven experience leading enterprise-scale transformation, defining standards and governance, driving adoption, and operating in a global matrixed organization.

Competencies:

Deep knowledge of Git-based development, GitLab or comparable platforms, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, automated testing and deployment, security automation, cloud, containers, Kubernetes, artifact management, software supply-chain controls, observability, and DORA metrics.
Working knowledge of JFrog, AWS or Azure, Terraform, Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, and integrated SDLC workflows.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Enterprise DevOps Transformation: Lead enterprise DevOps and DevSecOps transformation agenda, translating strategy into practical standards, reusable capabilities, adoption plans, and measurable outcomes.

2. Product Roadmap Leadership: Partner with the Product Owner to shape, prioritize, and execute the DevOps Toolchain roadmap within the SDLC Hub, including refinement, dependencies, delivery sequencing, and selected day-to-day product decisions.

3. Architecture and Standards: Define and govern DevOps architecture principles, secure golden paths, reusable CI/CD templates, infrastructure-as-code patterns, quality gates, and software supply-chain controls.

4. Toolchain Integration: Drive standardization and integration across GitLab, JFrog, cloud platforms, Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, testing tools, and other SDLC capabilities to improve traceability and developer experience.

5. Adoption and Enablement: Engage development and product teams to identify adoption barriers, gather feedback, support onboarding, and scale standard practices through coaching, demonstrations, and communities of practice.

6. Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with Enterprise Architecture, Cybersecurity, Cloud, Quality, Testing, and engineering teams to ensure solutions are secure, compliant, scalable, supportable, and practical for regulated environment.

7. Stakeholder Leadership: Communicate strategy, architecture, roadmap progress, outcomes, risks, dependencies, and investment needs clearly to technical teams and senior leadership.

8. Metrics and Value: Define and track measures for adoption, DevOps maturity, developer experience, delivery flow, quality, reliability, and engineering productivity, including relevant DORA measures.

9. Technical Leadership: Provide hands-on technical leadership and challenge architecture and implementation decisions when needed, while enabling delivery teams rather than serving as the primary operational DevOps engineer.

10. Innovation: Assess emerging capabilities in platform engineering, developer self-service, software supply-chain security, and AI-assisted or agentic software delivery for appropriate use.
