Job Role: Principal Digital Product Owner
Job Location: Washington, DC (Remote with Quarterly travel required for PI Planning (Northeast corridor, typically between Washington, DC and Philadelphia, PA)
Job Type: Long Term Contract
 
JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking an experienced Principal Digital Product Owner to join a cross-functional Agile Release Train (ART) focused on delivering enterprise-scale data and analytics solutions. This role will be instrumental in driving the successful delivery of self-service data products and analytics capabilities that empower business users with trusted, accessible, and high-quality data.
 
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Agile Product Ownership, Data & Analytics, SAFe methodologies, and stakeholder management, with experience translating business needs into scalable data solutions.
 
Key Responsibilities
Product Ownership
  • Serve as the primary voice of the customer and manage the product backlog.
  • Ensure backlog priorities align with business objectives and maximize value delivery.
  • Define, refine, and prioritize features, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
Product Vision & Strategy
  • Develop and communicate a clear product vision aligned with business goals.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Architecture, and business stakeholders to define strategic priorities.
Requirements & Feature Development
  • Translate business requirements into actionable product features and user stories.
  • Drive delivery of high-quality data and analytics products.
  • Support self-service data management and reporting capabilities.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Partner with business leaders, customers, architects, and development teams.
  • Build consensus and ensure alignment across multiple stakeholder groups.
Agile & SAFe Leadership
  • Champion Agile and SAFe best practices.
  • Participate in Program Increment (PI) Planning and ART ceremonies.
  • Coordinate with other Product Owners to ensure alignment across teams.
Metrics & Continuous Improvement
  • Define success metrics and KPIs.
  • Leverage data-driven insights to guide prioritization and product decisions.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation.
 
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner in Agile environments.
  •  Experience working with enterprise Data & Analytics platforms.
  •  Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and SAFe principles.
  •  Proven experience managing product backlogs and stakeholder expectations.
  •  Excellent communication, leadership, and facilitation skills.
  •  Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Bachelor''s degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager Certification.
  • 3+ years of Scaled Agile product ownership or product management experience in a large enterprise environment.
  • Experience with customer analytics.
  • Travel, hospitality, transportation, or reservations system experience.
  • Experience supporting large-scale data modernization initiatives.
