Job Summary: Talent Software Services is in search of a Storage Specialist for a contract position in Rochester, NY. The opportunity will be seven months with a strong chance for a long-term extension.

Position Summary: The client is seeking a senior-level Storage Specialist to serve as the primary lead for their Pure Storage environment. This is a hands-on, project-based role focused on maintenance, monitoring, firmware upgrades, migration support, and storage cleanup activities. The selected candidate will work closely with an offshore operations team, and will act as the main SME for storage-related initiatives, especially during the ongoing migration off Pure Storage arrays.

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

• Serve as the primary owner of 5 Pure Storage arrays.
• Perform day-to-day monitoring and maintenance of storage systems.
• Schedule and execute microcode/firmware updates.
• Manage snapshot (snap) requests and storage space allocations.
• Support database restore space requests and operational storage needs.
• Participate in migration and cleanup activities as resources are moved off Pure Storage.
• Coordinate with Pure Support regarding hardware from prior upgrades (decommissioning, returns, etc.).
• Provide on-call support as needed (rare occurrences).
• Be available for occasional onsite support during critical updates (e.g., firmware upgrades requiring manual intervention).

• Strong hands-on experience with Pure Storage arrays (highly required).
• Experience with NAS storage environments.
• Proven experience performing firmware/microcode updates.
• Solid troubleshooting and production support experience.
• Ability to work independently in a lead capacity.
• Experience supporting enterprise-level storage environments.

• Experience supporting storage migration projects.
• Experience working in a hybrid onshore/offshore model.
• Background in healthcare or large enterprise environments.
• Storage-related certifications (preferred but not required).
• Higher education preferred; relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
