Summary

Job Description

A rapidly growing AI technology company is building the next generation of software for in-house legal teams, helping organizations transform legal from a support function into a strategic business partner. Its platform brings together legal data, business context, and end-to-end workflows to help modern legal departments work more efficiently and make better decisions. The company is already trusted by Fortune 500 companies and high-growth organizations and is looking for a Founding Product Manager to help shape the next phase of the product.

As the Founding Product Manager, you'll own a major product vertical and play an integral role on the product leadership team. You'll be responsible for deciding what to build, prioritizing the roadmap, setting ambitious but pragmatic timelines, and driving products from concept through launch and iteration. You'll work closely with Engineering, Design, AI/ML, Forward-Deployed Engineering, and GTM teams while staying deeply connected to customers and their real-world workflows.

This is a high-ownership opportunity for an experienced Product Manager who thrives in early-stage, greenfield environments. You'll spend significant time with General Counsels, legal operations leaders, and end users to understand how legal teams actually work, identify workflow bottlenecks, and translate those insights into intuitive product experiences. You'll also help establish the company's product culture, processes, and systems as the organization scales.

The ideal candidate has a strong track record of building and scaling 0-to-1 products, is comfortable navigating complex systems and workflows, and knows how to earn the trust of highly technical engineering teams. This person should be entrepreneurial, low ego, highly curious, and willing to roll up their sleeves to solve problems directly. The role is based in New York City and requires working onsite five days per week.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 6+ years of experience in Product Management
  • Experience working in an early-stage, high-growth startup environment
  • Track record of shipping 0-to-1 products and successfully scaling them
  • Demonstrated ability to define product strategy, prioritize roadmaps, and drive continuous execution
  • Strong ability to work effectively with experienced engineering teams and earn the trust of technical stakeholders
  • Experience managing complex systems and translating complicated workflows into simple, intuitive products
  • Strong entrepreneurial track record or demonstrated success operating in highly unstructured environments
  • High level of ownership, initiative, and accountability
  • Strong customer empathy and emotional intelligence
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Ability to operate effectively with significant autonomy and ambiguity
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Experience in legal technology, legal operations, or products used by in-house legal teams
  • Experience building AI-powered or agentic products
  • Experience defining product requirements and success metrics for AI/ML workflows
  • Technical fluency sufficient to prototype, read code or pull requests, and pressure-test technical approaches with Engineering
  • Experience working directly with General Counsels, legal operations leaders, or other enterprise customers
  • Experience leading enterprise deployments or complex product integrations
  • Experience helping establish product processes, operating systems, and product culture within a growing organization
  • Experience working at a startup through a significant period of growth or organizational scale
What You Will Be Doing Daily Responsibilities
  • Own the product roadmap for a major product vertical, deciding what to build and prioritizing initiatives based on customer and business impact
  • Set feature timelines and team goals while thoughtfully managing scope, dependencies, and risks
  • Work as a member of the product leadership team to shape the broader product roadmap and product operating model
  • Make rapid decisions when appropriate while carefully evaluating higher-risk or irreversible product decisions
  • Partner with AI and ML engineers to define what excellent agentic workflows look like, including accuracy, reliability, latency, and human-in-the-loop experiences
  • Define meaningful product metrics and establish standards for measuring AI-powered product performance
  • Spend significant time with General Counsels, legal operations leaders, and end users to understand their workflows and identify product opportunities
  • Participate in sales and post-sales conversations to better understand customer needs and adoption challenges
  • Translate customer research and real-world workflow observations into product priorities
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Design, Forward-Deployed Engineering, and GTM teams to drive alignment and execution
  • Help identify and remove workflow bottlenecks that could limit user growth or product adoption
  • Lead products from discovery and scoping through launch, measurement, and iteration
  • Help build and refine the company's product culture, processes, documentation, and decision-making systems
  • Contribute to enterprise customer deployments and integrations as needed
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve the user experience and make complex legal workflows feel simple and intuitive
The Offer
You will receive the following benefits:
  • Equity
  • Comprehensive Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • HSA Available Depending on Plan Selection
  • 401(k)
  • 12 Weeks Paid Parental Leave
  • 20+ Days of Flexible PTO
  • Annual Learning & Development Stipend
  • Technology Stipend, Including Unlimited Spend on AI Tooling
  • Daily Lunch for In-Office Team Members
  • Significant Ownership and Impact at an Early-Stage Technology Company
